I'm standing in line at EB at the local mall at 1:30pm. There are three of us there and only one clerk. It's the manager and she knows her stuff, so I don't mind the short wait. Better than waiting in line because one of the goths who usually mans the register is making weekend plans with the Hot Topic staff across the hall.
In front of me is a 18-25 year old male, dressed in what I would consider the Winter Thug Collection. Wool hat, big puffy jacket. All in dark colors. Stocky dude, mumbles his way through his order.
Behind me is a picture-perfect modern yuppie. Long black overcoat, coiffed hair. Slacks. Probably on a late lunch, or maybe between sales calls.
Then there's me. Messy hair, light fleece jacket, perennially in Casual Friday jeans.
All three of us asked for Animal Crossing: Wild World.

The new game should be awesome, and I fear I will neglect my Gamecube town. Over a year of happyiness and joy that game has brought me. Still, bring on the Wild World!
I really look forward to reading your Wild World blog! I picked up the GC version's blog fairly early and thought it was very well written. I'm hoping to get a DS this Christmas so I can compliment my Animal Crossing town with a Wild World one. Please update often!

I'll be getting my DS this Christmas, along with AC, and was wondering if you would think about changing your open town time to Friday night, instead. I'm generally extremely busy on the weekdays, but I have way more time on the weekends. I would love to join in, though, once I get my DS. I understand if you do not change it, just thought I'd ask.
Once you get the game, I'm sure we can set up some visits! I've already met one guy who seems to have his town gate open 24-7... must be rockin' that AC adapter.

I believe that Sable talks with you after you design a certain number of patterns, not conversations. Make sure you design stuff, too.
I loved your AC for GC journal! It was so hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing. I love how you took the most innocent gesture and turned it int oa world dominating task. Hope to see good things with Wild World. I'll send a bottle out for ya!
So, about emotes. I'm pretty sure you get the emotes in a set sequence, like... say... the Nook store upgrades. It doesn't make sense that your town would start out with something other than Nook's Cranny, right? And Nook-N-Go is the logical progression after that. Well, I think there's a similar inevitable progression for the emotes: the leftmost emote is Shyness, and they're unlocked from left to right. I think Dr. Shrunk's conversation is emotion-specific, as well, so the order's probably fixed so that your "psychotherapy" progresses normally.
Huh. That's pretty silly. Why not distribute the emotes randomly so that players have something to show off when they visit each other? Screw his stupid psychotherapy script... it's lame that EVERYBODY has shyness now, and after the next visit, EVERYBODY will have shyness and happiness (or whatever.) Typical Nintendo. For every two steps forward, they take one step back.
Well, presumably Dr. Shrunk's visits are as random as everything else in the game, so people who play on a daily basis are going to get the full set a lot sooner than people who only drop in once a week. That's still not that great, of course, since as a measure of "devotion" to the game, it's redundant with... well, with practically everything else. It almost reminds me of an MMORPG in terms of the time investment/game rewards/online prestige relationship.

A new, unfortunate revelation: picking up other people's dropped patterns doesn't give you the opportunity to acquire that pattern--apparently, the only way to get it is through an Able Sisters' display mannequin. That's kinda sad.
Yeah, that's gimpy. And speaking of patterns, what's the deal with Wendell? Now he gives out road tile patterns? And if I want his stuff, I have to blow out my stuff?!? In GCN AC, you had a convoluted method to saving patterns beyond the 8 slots in your inventory and the 8 Able showroom dolls... I'd love to get all of Wendell's road tiles, but not at the loss of all of my custom work!

1) Three visitors at a time, but the really unhelpful feature is a limit of 32 on the friend list. I'm well above that now!
2) I said I would try to avoid online spoilers as long as possible! And the haircut thing really grinds me because you have to pay 3000 for what could be absolutely hideous. I didn't feel like trial-and-erroring it at the cost of my mortgage payments, so I hit the 'net.
I didn't figure out the LaDiDay till almost midnight that night, but, if you didn't have the gate open, and kept talking to animals, they would say things like "you wanna hear my tune?" and sings, then asks if it made it, and you either chose "you're hired" or "that won't do"... And if you "hired" someone, that tune became the town tune....
Still, I was hoping for Tortey give-away...
I just got the game and it's so much fun! I'm trying to figure out the WIFI cause I'me having troubles with it. Any hints?
What's the problem? And do you have Nintendo's WiFi adapter or your own home wireless router?
Wow, I figured out that if you mail a person a letter after they've packed their boxes and tell you they are going to leave, they stay! But I don't know whether you have to send them a present or not... I didn't take any chances and sent everyone presents... But it always works for me, so if you don't want someone to move, immediately send them a letter! = D
And whoops, I was gonna attempt to visit Admasvil... A little late, I suppose! (I thought it was two hours later than here, not two earlier!!!)

i think youre right about that joe(animal crossing for revaloution),and think about it!have u seen the controller!?!?one part is like a tv remote with lots of buttons and lets say youre playing zelda,u swing the remote link swings the sword!the other part is some little handheld thing with a few buttons and a joystick that is connected to the remote via wire:think about how we will use the rod,axe,etc.!i hope ive been of help.see ya!

You know, your town layout is actually pretty cool, what with the island and such. I chose shopping in the "Why are you moving to (insert town name here)", but I ended up with a river like a gash across the middle of the town, dividing it in two, with the Town Hall, Museum, town gate and four animal houses up the top half, and my house, The Able Sisters, Nookway and 4 other villagers down the bottom...which leads me to beleive that town layouts are completely random.
Fay again! I had to get a new friend code, thanks to our Best Buy. I had a couple "dead" pixels on my screen and I took it into Best Buy (I don't know why I didn't send it into Nintendo to get it fixed) and the employees gave me a new DS. It's not as shiny as my teal DS was (So sleek and shiny!!!) but dead pixels don't pop up all over my screen as they used to. At least I didn't have to start a new AC:WW game!
