Today I picked up my Pokemon Sapphire. Interestingly, Toys R Us had it on sale already, a $30 game at $25. This mightily confused the cashier, since I had paid $5 to reserve it. Or actually, I used a TRU gift certificate, so I paid nothing according to my receipt. You can imagine the minimum wage confusion that resulted.
Once that was all straightened out, I was able to start my journey. My first impression is that it is eerily similar to the previous two Pokemon games. Just somewhat prettier. I chose the Treecko as my starting pokemon, but I quickly filled out my party with all the nearby low-level crap pokemon. So far, I've concentrated on the Treecko and a Wurmple as my main battlers. I've pegged the Wurmple as a Weedle/Caterpie type, and it already evolved into a dopey Cascoon, so I'm probably right on. Its next evo will likely be some kind of butterfly beast.
Sapphire restructured the familiar pokedex ordering, which stinks. Pokemon #1 is now Treecko, not Bulbasaur. I wonder if Professor Birch has an explanation for this sudden break in continuity.
Just about every pokemon I've encountered has been an entirely new breed, which is to be expected for a sequel sequel. The only "original" series monsters I've seen is a Machop and a Magikarp. Three Magikarps actually, in a ridiculous battle against my one Cascoon. My stupid Cascoon is a lousy fighter, and it handled three Magikarps without taking any damage at all, since the Magikarps are even stupider. Splash attack. Some things never change.
Anyway, I'm going to make diary entries to track my progress. Just entered Rustboro Town and learned a little about Devon Corporation. Had a brief run-in with a Team Aqua Grunt. Turns out my Dad is the Gym Leader of Petalburg Town, which is pretty cool.
Time: 2:31
Pokedex: 7
Party: Cascoon lv8, Poochyena lv6, Treecko lv13, Lotad lv4, Shroomish lv5, Zigzagoon lv4

great diary!
can't wait to pick up my new GBA SP and grab a copy of ruby or sapphire! (is the only difference the type of pokemon you get?)
thanks for posting the journal! keep it up!
Great idea with the onlie poke' diary. Although my comment is more of a question. For some reason my wurmple evolved into a silkoon instead of a cascoon. Then the silkoon evovled into a beautifly. Beautifly is an awesome pokemon and he's still in my party. I think it may be more along the type of butterfree-like pokemon you desired. I was just wondering if you heard how to affect the evolution of wurmple to decide wether you get a silkoon or a cascoon. Feel free to e-mail me back if you get any info on this strange double evolution theory.
I received an email a couple days ago (thanks, Martin!) that said that you get a Cascoon/Dustox if your Wurmple evolves at night... so I guess you go Silcoon/Beautifly if it evolves at day. Makes sense I suppose. Rats! I think I would have preferred the Beautifly! Have to go back and train up another stupid Wurmple...
Instead of getting a Wurmple all over again, just go to the woods just above the old seadog's cottage. They seem to be full of Cascoons and Silcoon. Only problem is that they only seem to use Harden... so maybe that's all they have?
I've been doing fine in my Pokemon Sapphire game, Unlike my sister, who doesn't even have her first badge! I have 7 badges, and I can't make through that friggin ice maze Wallice has in his gym. I have a Lv. 45 Blaziken, Lv. 46 Kyogre, Lv. 41 Swampert, Lv. 34 Grovyle, Lv. 40 Altaria, and a Lv. 37 Manectric.
Hey every1 if u have the time check out my website.
Hey it's me again. Thanx for explaining the cascoon-silkoon evolution thing. I figured it was something like that and I had them both before I came back and read the new post. Now all I need to find out is how to get an azurill. I painstakingly hunted and captured a male and female marril only to have them hatch an egg with another marril in it!!!???!!! Anyone with advice on making babies feel free to help me out. Pokemon babies that is, not the human kind. : )
O.k. nevermind that last post I made. I found a really good F.A.Q. site and it said I have to give my male marril some tidal herb to sucessfully make an azurill egg. Since you all are telling what pokemon you're using so will I. And beforehand I would like to state that no Joe I am not copying you. I was impressed with the similarities of our party and thats why I keep coming back to your site. What else can I say but you have good taste!!!! Poocheyna lv 17, Sableye lv.17, Minun lv 19, Plusle lv 19, Grovyle lv. 21, Swellow lv 22. Thats all I gotta say for now. I'll probably check back in tommorrow.
Awesome party, BLACK! Let me know if you find the Minun/Plusle team to be worthwhile. My initial feeling on them is that they're built as a 2-on-2 battle example and not much else. And I haven't even gotten around to getting pokemon to mate at the day care center. I dropped a nincada off a couple days ago and completely forgot about the place.
BLACK is back, and I've totally hit a wall. I can't beat the electric gym leader Wattson at all. I spend all my poke' money on super potions and paralyz heals and no matter what I do it's not enough. Any strategies to help me out would be cool since our parties are almost identical. I've even decided to try to switch up my party a bit and level up a nincada since it's the only ground type I've found so far. I'm almost to the point where I'm so frustrated that I wanna start my game over again and pick a Torchic, since fire works well against magnemite/magneton. I really don't wanna start over again cause my pokedex is coming along so nicely. I haven't really come across a new pokemon I haven't caught yet in the past couple of days. As for my plusle minun combo, it seems to be o.k. although I was hoping there'd be alot more 2 on 2 battles to use them in. I figured the key to their co-op battling is the helping hand move. The thing is you have to use the helping hand move on your own guy!!!! Whenever you want to do the move and you pick witch pokemon to do it on, move the blinking cursor over to your other pokemon and use it on it. I have yet to try this in the game, but I can't wait to see if it powers up the others moves all that much. Let me know if you get a chance to try this and how it went.
I think you might want to level up a bit more. My party was all low 20s (except Minun and Plusle) when I went against Wattson. As I recall, it went something like this: Mightyena puts out the Magnetite with 2-3 Rock Smash attacks, I'd let him Bite the Voltorb down and quick switch in the Taillow to take the Voltorb's stupid Self-Destruct. The Magneton was the big problem, as he kept eating Super Potions. I'd let Sableye, Grovyle and Mightyena do their thing against him, and switch in the Plusle or the Minun when I needed to heal/de-paralyze any of my big three.
The big trick is making it so Wattson can't use his Super Potions... this means gauging your hits so that you kill him instead of letting him with a little red left, because he will always Super Potion on that red. I used midlevel attacks like Absorb and Quick Attack, and then brought out the Rock Smash to finish the Magneton. It wasn't easy for this particular party, and it took several attempts for me to get it done!
Thanx for the tips. I haven't gotten to try it yet cause I've been out shopping all day. I forgot about the indespensible rock smash move. that should help out alot. I'm getting sick of trying to level up in the same old patches of grass in the area I'm stuck in. Those Gulpins are really getting under my skin. I'm gonna try to beat Wattson a few more times and hopefully won't have to start my game over. Thanx again, and I'll talk to ya later
Hey Joe. I've leveled up and am going to take on Wattson again after I pick up my brother from work. I just wanted to tell you, you may wanna pick up that nincada from the day care before it hits level 20. I was raising one to fight Wattson cause it's a ground type and I only had it and Grovyle, Sableye, and Mightyena in my party and when it evovled at lv 20 it turned into a flying bug type and there was a totally new ghost bug type in my party!!!! It sucks that I no longer have a strong ground type but I got a whole new pokemon for doing nothing but evovling one I already had. Plus the evovled form. Pretty cool huh?? I think an evolution hatching a new pokemon was a sweet hidden idea and a killer wqay to help fill out my pokedex
That Nincada evolution thing is crazy but true. Basically, Nincada splits into two pokemon: a Ninjask and a Shedinja. The Shedinja is the "surprise" pokemon. It (it is sexless) is types bug and ghost, has the attacks Leech Life, Sand-Attack, Fury Swipes, and Mind Reader. It also has the Wonder Guard ability for "super effective" attacks. Mine appeared at the same level as my Ninjask. The weird thing is that the Shedinja has 1 HP.
I'm making alot of progress in my sapphire game. I've switched up my party alot cause I'm trying to evovle alot of pokemon with the cooler looking evolutions. I got the surf hm and have added a level 31 marril who I lovingly nicknamed marijuana. I evolved my grovyle to a lv 39 sceptile, sableye is at lv 30, and I have a swablu at lv 26, vigoroth just evolved and is still at lv 18. I'm awaiting the return of my claw fossil from the regeneration at devon corp. so thats why theres a space in my party. I've got 5 badges and my pokedex is at 58 with 37:47 game hours played. I think electrike wil be my next evolution followed by ralts. So how's everybody else doing???
Hi Joe. I love your Sapphire diary. I went crazy and bought both Sapphire and Ruby, as well as the new GBA SP and Pokemon 4Ever movie. Nuts, huh! Right now I am playing Ruby. I was a little disappointed at first because the game seemed to lose some of the neat features of Crystal, but I'm liking it now. My starting line-up is: Phoenix (Combusken), Shitake (Breloom), Sparkle (Manectric), Skillet, (Aron), Sympathy (Gardevoir), and Gulliver (Pelipper) all level 31. So far, nothing has stopped them or given them much trouble (including Wattson), they're a great team. My Manectric has won Normal and Super Rank Cool Ribbons. I am at Fallarbor Town right now and spent the last 6 hours gathering ash to buy a desk. Do you know how the secret hideouts work yet?
WHERE DO YOU FIND THE POKe Block case? I have searched and searched with no luck!
Hey guys. I haven't checked in here for awhile cause I've been busy. I made it pretty far and have captured Kyogre. I went nuts catching pokemon and my pokedex is now at 81. I haven't made a secret base yet and am kinda curious about it. My sceptile won a toughness ribbon. As far as the pokeblock case goes some girl gives it to you but it was sooo far back in my game I can't really remember where. I was wondering if any one had info on how to capture a relicanth. I have only ran into it once and wasted all my pokeballs on it to no avail. I'm searching the same undersea area where I spotted it the first time and can only come across clampearls and chinchous. If anyone has or can find more specific info on how to get relicanth like the time of day or patch of grass where it's best to find one please make a post. My party is manectric lv 31 (I'm raising him to take on wallace) Aronith lv 36 wialmer lv 23 sceptile lv 43 altaria lv 37 and kyorge lv 45. Most pokemon are in my party strictly to level up and evolve though.
O.k. nevermiond about relicanth in that last post. I got him. My advice to anyone else trying to get him is HAVE PATIENCE!!!! He will eventually get his own hp down low enough to get him in the ball if you keep letting him use take down. Just be sure to have a strong enough pokemon or plenty of potions on hand to withstand the assault.
Kerry, you can find the Pokeblock Case by talking to the little girl in the Pokemon Contest Hall in Slateport City. Good Luck!
hey guys! im pretty far in my game. My current team is Absol, kyogre, salamence, breloom, and castform who happens to be a really good combo with kyogre. The one problem im having with my game is that i cant seem to get shedinja. No matter what i do my nincada keeps evolving in a ninjask even when i have fewer than 5 guys with me. Help
6 hours gathering ash, Ruby?!?! Outstanding dedication. I collected enough for a sad little blue flute, and I choked Tang through my nose when I saw how much ash you need for the glass furniture. I did use Secret Power to make a base... mine is in that southern area below the Rusturf Tunnel. Of course, it has nothing in it yet, since my only furniture is two dolls. What's the best way to get new furniture, other than collecting ash? Where's Tom Nook when you need him...
Who's Tom Nook? (I'm blonde, duh!) Anyway, it looks like you can buy furniture in Fortee City, just past Route 119. Bring your billfold with you unless you like the ugly stuff, cause it ain't cheap! Oh, Matt, after doing a little research, I found that when Nincada evolves, you not only have to have an extra place for it, you have to have a Poke Ball. It specifies Poke Ball, so maybe the Great Ball and Ultra Ball won't work. It's worth a try!
Ruby you rock! Thanks so much for the tips. I think i just got a little confused because nincada evolves in ninjask anyway and then the computer or something gives you shedinja. What do you guys think is the toughest fire guy to have in the game? Im not sure if its even worth it but im open for suggestions.
ok here is my problem im at the part in the game where you have to go to the weather place and every time i get there i run into someone and all of my pokemon faint including my grovyle...is there any other faster way to level up my pokemon ???
disregard what i said last my new problem is exactly the same but its with the fortree city gym leader instead of the weather institute
I have finally got all eight badges and am currently hunting the legendary Regi's.I already got Regice and am having trouble with the steel one. It seems I don't have enough money to buy all the ultra balls it takes to wear him down. I used my one master ball on Kyogre which was probably a big mistake guessing by how randomly Latias appears in the wild. Has anyone even seen Latias yet??? The walkthrough website I found reccomends using the master ball on Rayquaza. This brings up my next question... has anyone heard or read anything about the cloning code for sapphire/ruby???? The old cloning code is now defunct with the new box system not requiring you to save when changing boxes. I hope there is a cloning code otherwise I'm gonna have to wit till my brother beats ruby to get a groudon for myself. either that or else game shark it. I'm sorry to even go that cheating route but I am a pokedex completeist (except for mew and cerebi so far) As for those of you having trouble with the gym leaders and other foes, take your time and level up. I've found that the caves leading to the elite four are a great place to earn mega experience points as well as catching some kinda high level evolved forms of cool pokemon. I've been spending alot of time there before I started my regi hunt. By the way I'd just like to say that I feel the regi's are the lamest pokemon in sapphire. they surely don't live up to the standard title of legendary pokemon set by the birds and cats of the previous games.
chaos, I think you just need more experience for your pokemon. I just went through the Fortree Gym sub-trainers, and my party is mostly between lv30 and lv33.
where do you get the tm secret power in sapphire ?
You get Secret Power from a guy standing by a tree... near Mt. Chimney or Fallarbor Town, I think. When you talk to him, he specifically mentions Secret Bases and the tree he is next to is the kind you can build a Base in.
thanks joe...i just got all of the eight badges and kyogre im going to get pokemon ruby also so i can get groudon and trade him over to my GBA SP. now i am trying to figure out the dot brail i think it says i have to catch a wailord and a relicanth so iam trying to level up my wailmer to level 40 to evolve into waillord
You're kidding me. You mean that line in the manual about "If you can't read a message, it might be braille!" is actually applicable?!? Craziness. Did you guys use your Master Ball for Kyogre, or is that a waste? I'm right at the big Team Aqua undersea fight myself.
yes i used my master ball to catch the kyogre... allthough i went to this girl in one of the towns and she said that my kyogre does not like me and his eyes run with fury wich is realy weird because we have been through alot of battles and competitions. do you know why,or what i can do ???
this is really weird im trying to get the registeel and i cant figure out the brail...the brail said
with new time,
hope and love,
aim to the sky
in the middle
i was hoping one of you could help me out on that one
chaos, I regrettably have caught all 3 regi's. the registeel you seek is located in the cave alongside route 119 where it is constantly raining. Go left of the entrance to the safari zone until you come to stairs by where a supernerd is standing. Go up the stairs and head north thil you see a cave. Go to the middle of the braille slab in the back of the cave and do the fly hm this will open up the door and you can waste all your ultra balls trying to catch registeel.
thanks trainer black, now do you know how to catch regirock?
Hi guys! I feel like I'm a little behind the times now. I've only just gotten my sixth badge and have just discovered the trainer's eye thing, which is easier done now that I can fly! My starting party are now all level 40-42. My Gardevior (Sympathy) and Manectric (Sparkle) have just gotten their 3rd ribbons and their conditions have all maxed out nearly perfectly on all five points with a little more emphasis on Cool for Sparkle and Smart for Sympathy. So, how come that jerk won't give them a scarf?!?! I finally made a secret base. It's under the bridge by the waterfall on the way to the weather station. That glass desk is huge, it nearly takes up the whole room!
To get Regirock go to Fallarbor Town. go right, until you reach the desert where you found the
fossil. you should find another cave entrance there. go to the middle of
the braille slate. Move to the right twice, and down twice, use strength and a
door leading to Regi-Rock will appear. Doesn't anyone else think the Regi's are lame or is it just me???
thanks black, actually i think they are "lame" also but i am on a quest to "catch em all" as ash would say
Anybody know where you find the Shoal Salt? It's easy to find the Shoal Shells, but I've been getting lost in that stupid cave. Is the Salt just inside that cave somewhere?
hey i beat the elite four with my first try but the funny thing is, is that all my pokemon were at level 40-46
joe dont feel bad i cant find the shoal shell either
Hey everybody. I'm not sure about this as I have yet to find the shoal salt myself, but my theory is that there is a tide in the game (although i have yet to see any evidence of it) and the shoal salt is visible during one tide (i.e. high) and the shoal shells must be obtainable during the opposite tide (i.e. low) Like I said I have seen no evidence of this in my game, but heard or read about it somewhere. Chaos I'm glad I could help you get those regi's. Perhaps "lame" is too light of a word for them and should be replaced with something along the lines of hella-gay! They do not even come close to measuring up to the coolness of the legendary birds or cats. And congratulations on beating the elite four on your first try. I'd like to hear more details about your battle like which pokemon you used and did you need alot of revives or potions????? I plan on taking on their challenge soon, maybe even tonight and my pokemon are at level 50 or 52. Also one last thing, again has anyone heard anything about the cloning codes for sapphire or ruby??? I feel like I wasted my time training my pokemon on my gold game during the days prior to sapphire coming out since there is no way I know of yet to transfer them between games. That really bums me out that you can't have a charizard or mewtwo or some of my other favorites in the new advanced games.
Hey! Black's right about the Shoal Cave tides. Shoal Salt is found at low tide and Shoal Shells are found at high tide and there seems to be about 6 hours in between tides.
Well, I caught Groudon. I used 5 ultra balls and then tried the timer ball - and it worked! I can't seem to get past the first room in the Sootopolis Gym though, the ice floor keeps breaking and the stairway won't appear. Any suggestions?
hey guys. I beat the elite four, although it took me 3 tries and i had to sell my big pearl and red sand or whatever it was to buy enough revives and hyper potions. Even though my pokemon were levels 50 and 52 (3 pokemon each level)I still had a bit of trouble. but my patience paid off in the end. Ruby you have to walk on the ice one square at a time and cover all the squares to make the stairs appear. The tricky part is walking on each square only once and ending up infront of the stairway when youre done. it takes some planning and a little trial and error but it is possible. the only thing i really wanna do now is fill out my pokedex. does anyone have any clue on how to find a feebass????
I know they're on route 119 or whatever, and i read somewhere that there is only one "tile" for a feebass in each game. I have no idea what that means or how to figure out where on route 119 my feebass "tile" is. any info on this would be cool
Thanks Black! The tip worked and I got my eighth badge. I decided to rearrange my starting party before I try the elite four so now I'm working on leveling everyone up. I have Groudon, Orca (Wailord), Phoenix (Blaziken), Sparkle (Manectric), Sympathy (Gardevoir), and Chikita (Tropius), all at level 50. To catch Feebas, go to the Weather Institute, cross the bridge, turn right and go down to the river's edge. Use surf and to the first little place you can get out of the water (your right). I caught eight Feebas here, I was trying to catch one that had the right nature to lean it towards dry (Beauty) type Pokeblocks. Look for one with a mild, modest, quiet or rash nature. Mine won all four beauty contests but I guess it didn't win with a high enough score because it didn't evolve into Milotic. I guess I have to keep on trying. Good luck! By the way, I don't know what a "tile" is either.
hey ruby thats cool i helped ya. I haven't tried fishing for feebass yet but thanx in advance for the tip. Joe to evolve a golbat into crobat is a friendly evolution. You gotta be real nice to the golbat by giving it items it likes and not letting it faint and stuff.
Bleah. Who wants to be nice to a Golbat? I think switch him out and try to level up an Aron. That probably evolves into something cool, right?
Hi Joe! I had an Aron, he leveled up to Lairon and then Aggron. Real cool looking, kind of like a Rhydon with heavy armor and spots. The neat thing is he has a rock head and can use the move "take down" without the recoil. I have him up to level 50 but traded him for Groudon.
I luff your Poke diary! ^_^ It's far more exiting then my chronicles lol!
Wurmple is supposed to become Beautifly by day as a silcoon, or Dustox (UGLY!) by night, through cascoon. I made the fatal mistake of leveling up my wurmple at night and accidentaly making it a Dustox, and it's been boxed ever since.
I was really dissapointed when my Grovyle evolved too (a japanese pokedex I found on the internet showed Treeko's fully evolved form as Rayquaza- I've been hoodwinked! :[)
My main team at the moment is chock full of my fav type, dragons: 2 flygons (L48 and L50), Salamence L51, Blaziken L57, Rayquaza L70 (caught it that way- save your masterball for either this or Latios\Latias! O_o) and Milotic L56. (I have a secondary team that includes a L45 Absol!)
I play animal crossing too, but with 1.2mil in the bank I just don't see the point in playing anymore...exept to catch those arapimas, of course! ;)
Oh, (forgot to add this to my first comment ^.^) Feebas is EXTREMELY HARD to catch. Every game, when you start, has 'Feebas tiles' that are picked randomly. In the big river in Route 119, there will be one to six 'tiles' feebas can be found in. Even when you discover these tiles, it will still not be guaranteed there (you have to use a super rod) I spent 3 hours fishing trying to get one, then gave up and Gamesharked one.
BTW, to make it evolve into Milotic, you have to max out it's beauty condition through pokeblocks.
Why is everyone so bonkers about Aggron? Granted, it looks REALLY cool, but to be blunt, it stinks. It's special defence is terrible, it's attack leaves to be desired, and it's types (Steel and dark) leave it vunerable to too many things. If you want a good steel type on your team, I advise Skarmory (found rarley, on Rt.113)
Also, does anyone know how to make your pokemon delighted? Mine seem to be okay with me, but I like to spoil my pokies and want them to be happy like the ones in crystal were ^.^
I have had no luck finding any of my feebass tiles. Ruby, it must be different in sapphire than in your game. Does anyone know if you can just run into feebass while surfing on your pokemons back or do you have to use the super rod always???? I'm so damned tired of fighting carvanas it's not even funny anymore. I caught a lairon in the victory road cave cause i figured aron would take forever to level up, which i was right about. I'll eventually evolve the lairon though but I'm not all "bonkers" about it. I'm screwed cause I used my masterball on kyogre. Unless theres another one hidden in the game somewhere. I'm gonna have a hell of a time catching rayquaza.
amen to that master black ... i used my master ball also so im going to get a gameshark and get more like that. there is also a game shark code that gets you all of the pokemon and says you beat all of the trainers possible...but im not going to use it because i think it is fun and exiting to battle and catch on your own
I bought a game shark before sapphire came out specifically to get mew but then i realized you can't use a game boy advance game shark on a game boy color game. so thinking that i got ripped off cause there were no signs of any sapphire game shark codes at the time i took it back to the store and then a few days later sapphire was released and a few more days after that the codes started popping up. now you'd think i could just go buy it again right... WRONG! i can't find one anywhere now. i guess i'm just doomed not to catch them all :(
More on the Feebas Conquest! I read on FAQ website that the location of the Feebas tiles change as the expression in Dewford changes so I can't find my tile anymore either. I do have a few but I'm having trouble getting them to evolve. The one I'm working on now has maxed out in beauty, received a blue scarf from the dude in Slateport, won all four contests, and got it's picture painted and hung in the Lilycove City's museum - and STILL hasn't evolved! What did I do wrong?
Never mind, I figured it out. You have to bring it up one level first. Looks cool!
Does anybody have any hints for getting the audience to like your entrant in the contests? I keep losing in the Master Rank because the audience hates me. If I enter the same pokemon in a lower rank, they love me, and I can often win on audience alone.
Hi Joe! I had the same problem so started experimenting and it seems to make the audience like you in the Master Rank Contest, you need to make sure you max out with pokeblocks in one of the five categories. And it doesn't hurt to have that dude in Slateport give you a scarf. If you win with a really high score, an artist will paint a picture of your pokemon and it will hang in the Lilycove Museum. Have you taken on the elite four yet?
Joe, here's a FAQ site I found that has all you ever wanted to know about Feebas. http://db.gamefaqs.com/portable/ gbadvance/file/pokemon_rs_feebas_milotic.txt Hope that helps.
hey guys, my game boy advance sp was dropped!!! and my sapphire game was in it. for some reason it started over im really p****d off because i just beat a whole bunch of battle tower trainers and was on the verge of catching the legendary raquazza...but now i have a torchic
I can't believe this. I'm at the ELite Four and I haven't even sen the Master Ball yet. I already caught Kyogre (good thing the Master Ball isn't wasted) and I also need to know where to find Rayquaza.
valek, the legendary raquazza is found ontop of the sky piller (thanks to my stupid gba sp i wont be getting him for a while)...but to get there you will need a pokemon that knows surf and a mach bike
in further news......howcome kyogre doesnt have a gender?
chaos, I'm sorry to hear about your tragic loss! I began the game with Torchic and as long as you pick up a Wingull and a Shroomish, you should have all bases covered. And I don't think any of the Legendaries had a gender, did they? I know they're not eggmaker at all. Valek, I think the Masterball was found in New Mauville, when you go to shut off that master switch for the dude in Mauville.
THe legendaries don't have genders so that you can't breed them (genderless means not even Ditto will get any action from them). This way, they're trying to prevent the breeding of super-armies of legendaries.
well i cought a magikarp and after a long time of switching him out he evolved into a garados...my party is a level 29 cumbusken, level 24 shroomish and a level 26 garados
the master ball is found in the team aqua or team magma hideout...thier hideout is right bye lilycove
chaos, you are right, I stand corrected! How is your new team coming? I'm just trying to win all five contests well enough now to get a painting in the Lilycove Museum. It's not easy! I'm traveling to Switzerland on Tuesday so I guess I won't be able to play too much, because I won't be able to recharge my GBA SP.
ruby,my game is coming along greatly im almost at the 7th gym leader...and my pokemon are great the team of gyrados and blaziken is a perfect match they make up for each others disadvantages
I know how you feel chaos, my stepsister erased by Blue game, which I had spent like 200 hours working on. I was so mad, and since then, I haven't had the heart to restart Blue again with all the new games out. I got my Sapphire game maybe about a month ago. I'm so happy that there's a new version, I've done everything possible on my silver version including leveling up my two favorite pokemon to level 100, without the use of any special methods. I was so proud of my self. The weird thing I've noticed is that I seem to become very attached to about 2 pokemon in each game, and no others. Incidentally, I raise those 2's levels as high as I can and love them with all my heart. They also usually end up being Psychic and Dark types. In silver it was Umbreon and Espeon (I've always had a thing for the Eevee evolutions) and in Sapphire it's Absol and Chimecho. I absolutely adore these two. Absol totally looks like it could have been evolved from Eevee and Chimecho is this cute little ghost like creature I caught at the top of Mt. Pyre. I've played the game now for 42 hours and 45 minutes and they're both at level 70. I've beaten the Elite Four a number of times and have cute down my usage of items to about 2 revives and 4 hyper potions, which I consider to be pretty good considering I'm used to 1 hit KO's in my Silver game. I guess I just kinda became a little spoiled. Right now I'm trying to level up Absol and Chimecho to level 100 each so that I can enter them into the whole Battle Tower thing. I need to find a third pokemon too. If anyone has any suggestions, I badly need some advice. Thanks.
Advice for a third to max out? Of course. Charizard, Articuno, Alakazam, all of those are good choices. I have them each at level 100 (working on Mewtwo now) and they're awesome. ou can give that a shot if ya want.
well there is a couple of good thing from my game starting over...like not wasteing my masterball on kyogre i tried and i finally cought him/her with a netball.now im going to beat the elite four to go to th sky piller and catch the legendary most powerful pokemon in the game RaQuAzAa
Hello all. Joe.. sounds like you've been pretty busy lately, and also neglecting your sapphire game. Oh well, I guess life goes on outside of video games. I was just wondering where on Mt. pyre you find Chimecho. I've been scouring around there for one for the past 2 nights and haven't even seen one. Is it inside the tower or on the mountain it's self??? I still have had no luck with Feebass. Although I haven't tried the method used in that link Ruby posted. I've been too busy hunting Chimecho to fish for Feebass. I never really wanted a Chimecho till it was mentioned on this page and I realized I hadn't caught one yet. Thats about all thats new on my game since I've also kinda been neglecting my game.
I know how you feel, it took me about a week to catch my Chimecho, but I finally figured out how. Okay, you know where the couple who you talk to you about either the blue or the red orb. Well, go to where they are at the summit of Mt. Pyre, then, if you walk around to the left and right of them, you can find some extemely small patches of grass. Then if you spend a lot of time walking around in them Chimecho will appear! It takes a lot of patience, but it's worth it in the end.
Hey guess what! I got Latios! I was just wandering around on route 110 and there it was. I was so excited that I used my masterball. I hope that wasn't a screw-up, although I have heard of people getting Raquaza without it. And my choice for a third to level up is Gardevoir, Spoink is kind of cute too.
Okay, I know this may seem weird, but does anyone think that you're rival in Pokemon Sapphire is lame to those in previous versions? I started playing the game as a boy, and named myself Satoshi (Ash's japanese name) and I was completely expecting some cool badass rival that I could name Shigeru (Gary's japanese name). Instead I got a wimpy girl who tries to help me out during the game. What the hell is up with that? I didn't even get to name her anything too, plus her name isn't japanese which makes me really mad, cause I'm obsessed with Japan. I don't know if you choose to play as the girl in the beginning if it's any different, but I really hate that they messed that part of my game up. Rival battles are only fun when you dislike your opponent and they dislike you in return, not when they want to be friends.
Congratulations on your catch!!! Oh, and Latios is probably the best pokemon to use your master ball on, because you have no way to prepare for the battle before hand. With Raquaza you can at least stock up on like a million ultra balls before hand do the whole save right before battle and restart until you manage catch him.
congrats ruby...thankyou ruby and isshi youve opened up my eyes and ive seen that i shouldnt jump the gun and waste my master ball on raquazaa and save it for a latias
Isshi, thanks for the tips on catching chimecho. I plan on trying that out after i get done writing this. Gee I wish I still had a masterball. I don't think I'm gonna start my gave over for it just yet though.
Hey gang! I have been negelecting Sapphire, mainly because I had a tough time with Wally at the end of Victory Road. So I kinda retreated to do more berry runs and contests. But I did finally beat him and now I'm about to tackle the Elite Four. Should I have found the Regis (or at least one of them) by now? Or maybe that's a sidequest for after the League. Nice work getting a Latios, Ruby! How do you know when it's around... just pops up in a random battle?
Oh, and about the rival thing. I was surprised too to see that the time-honored Pokemon Rival thing had become a Pokemon Friend thing. Interestingly, I find battles with her much less stressful than the battles with past games' rivals... not because she's any less powerful than the enemy rivals, but just because she's presented as an easy-going friend instead of a mean, nasty brat. At least Nintendo changed up the gameplan there a little, though. There is so much about Ruby/Sapphire that is nearly identical to every other game (and a lot of downgrades from Gold/Silver/Crystal), so it's nice to have a couple differences now and then!
Joe, don't worry about not having caught the Regi's yet. I've beaten the elite four a number of times and I still haven't gotten around to it. It'd be a whole lot more fun if they were cool looking like birds and cats of the previous pokemon games. It's kinda sad, but I find myself discriminating against those pokemon who aren't as pretty on the outside as others. I just always go for the cute ones. Oh, and thanks Ruby, I've decided to take suggestion of Gardevoir as the third pokemon for my team. Now all I have to do is catch a Ralts. So far no luck, but I've only been looking for about 10 minutes.
Yay! I caught my Ralts. Now all I have to do is get him up from level 4 to level about level 70 (the current level of my other favorite pokemon) This may take a while.
Welcome back Joe! The Latios just popped up - like Suicune and the others did in the wild in Gold and Silver. I don't have the Regis yet either. I tried for Regice before I went to the Elite Four but got discouraged and gave up after 28 Ultra Balls and 15 Timer Balls. Turned out I didn't need it anyway. Manectric did just fine. I'm just leveling up now, collecting berries and entering contests. I leave at noon today for my trip and won't be back until the 15th. Isshi, I hope you like Gardevoir. If you get one with the right personality, it does very well in the smart contests too.
You know what I just realized, the name Gardevoir is French. It's a combination of two verbs. Garder : to guard, and voir: to see. I totally should have seen it considering I take French as well as Japanese at my school. Just goes to show how much a actually pay attention in my classes.
well i just cought my raquaza (without using my master ball)and since it doesnt have a gender i gave it one hence the nickname lady luck
now im on a search for latias... last night i spent 3 hours looking for it but no luck
isshi good luck with your gardevoir
oh and by the way i have some more name anagrams
ekans backwords is snake and arbok backwords is kobra
Chaos, good look on finding Latias, I've spent about 5 hours so far in random places training and waiting for it to appear. Congratulations on catching Raquaza without using your master ball! My problem is that I can't seem to navigate using the Mach bike well enough to even get up the tower. What can I say, I've used the Acro bike the whole time because it's easier for me. I'll keep trying after I finish leveling up Absol, Chimecho, and Gardevoir, I really want to be able to participate in the battle tower. So far their levels are as stands:
Absol : 74
Chimecho : 70
Gardevoir : 34
I really need to get a move on if I'm gonna accomplish my goal soon. I'm hoping that it'll only take about a month or so, it all depends on what happens in my life. I stopped playing Silver for about 3 months when my friend tried to commit suicide. I seriously hope nothing like that happens ever again.
Thanks again to Ruby for recommending Gardevoir, I've grown to love him so much!
Joe, congratulations on beating the Elite Four. Feels pretty good doesn't it? I had a pretty awful day today so I doubt I'll be doing much more than playing on my game tonight. Hopefully I can add to my pokedex and level up Gardevoir.
joe since you you beat the elite four i dont know if you know this or not but go to stevens house in mossdeep city there you will find a pokeball.
inside there is a pokemon, beldum the 1st evoulution of metagross
Congrats to Joe on beating the Elite Four!!! Thanks to Isshi for helping me finally catch a Chimecho. Congrats to Ruby on her Latios find. and thanks to Chaos for reminding me about the Beldum waiting for me at Stevens house. I knew about this but I just forgot until I read that last post. Now if I could just manage to find the patience to fish up a Feebass.I have also been kind of negelecting my Sapphire game lately, but thats cause I almost have Windwaker beat, and I just opened up the figure gallery. (man, making those figures is addicting) Also I'm sorry if I forgot to mention anyone who has helped me out or accomplished something worthy of noting recently, but I think I got everyone covered.
Thanks for the tip on the Beldum. I probably would NEVER have wandered back into that house otherwise! Now I have a cute li'l Beldum holding the EXP.SHARE waiting for his time to shine. Here's some questions for you guys about more stuff I may have missed: what is the point of Pacifidlog? Is it just a rest stop if you're taking the long swim across the bottom of the map? And does the rocket launching center in Mossdeep have any function as well? Seems odd to have giant buildings/towns with little or no purpose...
Yeah, Pacifidlog is just kinda there. The only things you can really do there is get either TM 27, Return, or TM 21, Frustration (You can come back each week) and visit the old man who'll tell you if he can see the mysterious Mirage Island. Otherwise, it's pretty pointless to go visit.
At the moment, I'm still working on leveling up for the battle tower. Gardevoir's only at level 49, and Absol and Chimecho have only made it to 75 and 72. It's boring work.
I've been having a lot more fun with the status compettions. I'm going for a master rank in the cute section with my Skitty, but I haven't made it yet. Hopefully it'll be soon.
Cool diary. I am currently obsessed with my game, and I also have a winning team too! ^_^
1) Sceptile
2) Hariyama
3) Mighthyena
4) Gardevoir
5) Swellow
6) Kyogre
Those guys are quite strong once you put 'em above level 46.
P.S. did you guys know there's already a Sapphire/Ruby Walkthrough?? Just bought one today.
I always saw Pacifidlog as a rest stop in case you wanted to surf from Mossdeep to to Slateport and fight the eight routes of trainers along the way. I'm halfway through doing that as training anyway, and it's really handy since I don't have to bring a flier to heal.
If anyone cares, I just beat Wallace and am starting training for Victory Road. My team is:
Gardevoir L41 + Quick Claw
Altaria L41 + Soft Sand*
Manectric L41 + King's Rock**
Blaziken L43 + Charcoal
Kyogre L45 + Mystic Water
In the sixth slot, either an HM servant or Sableye L41 + nothing yet. Like Joe, I love the little thing.
Movesets not supplied because I've used exactly one TM so far, and that will be rectified so imminently that it's not worth the trouble to supply the crappy natural sets.
*He (yes, it's a male :/) knows Earthquake, and I haven't gotten around to beating the Dragon Tamer guy five times for the Dragon Scale. I think the only way to get it otherwise is to use Thief/Covet or catch a wild Altaria, and they're only in the Sky Pillar, where I can't get yet. (I don't believe it works for Swablus.)
**Again, haven't done enough in New Mauville to get the Magnet. Also, I've never used the King's Rock, and it's just intriguing enough that I want to test drive it.
OK, as for the King's Rock, consider it a bust. Manectric would have benefitted from it if not for the unfortunate fact that *every single one* of his moves have side effects, something I forgot because I never seem to pull them. Back to New Mauville I guess.
It seems like none of my guys have the right combination of good Speed and no-side-effect moves to take advantage of KR. Altaria's Earthquake comes close (Dragonbreath has a chance to paralyze), but it's a relatively punchless move without the Soft Sand, and he can't hold two items.
A shame. I really wanted to show up that kid who thought I was weird for wanting his King's Rock.
Another correction. Apparently this walkthrough erred in saying that the Magnet could be found in New Mauville. In fact, it is given to you when you beat the Trick House for the sixth time. I only have four wins so far though. Smeg.
Nothing is finer than a team well-trained team at level 46+. Until you hit the battle tower, that is.
Just some far reaching ideas here, but I'm not going to let the Diary die just because I beat the League Champion. You can expect some Tower commentary coming, as well as talk about the new Pokemon games once they come out. Pinball Ruby/Sapphire will likely be worth an update, as well as Colosseum and Box. Maybe even Pokemon Channel... although it seems to wrong to reinvent the simplistic Hey You Pikachu for the GameCube, while ignorin Pokemon Snap.
By the way, has everybody heard of the Eon Ticket? It's an eCard they gave away at E3. When you scan it (using the whole unlikely eReader + 2 GBAs + cable setup) it lets you travel to another island, where you can catch the opposite of your Latias or Latios. Right now, nobody knows if Nintendo will distribute the Eon Ticket beyond E3, but I'd bet on that card being packed in a future issue of Nintendo Power. I hope, because I don't feel like paying $20 or higher for one on eBay.
"Nothing is finer than a [well-trained team] at level 46+"... except a well-trained team that's higher. After a few hours of training today my guys are 45, 46, 47, 47, 48 and 50, but I'm not going to take on the Elite until everybody's 50+.
Afer all, I'd really rather not die to Meteor Mash in one hit all the time. Especially since my Kyogre has crappy IVs. (I caught him without the Master Ball and so couldn't be bothered to go through it again.)
A note on Kyogre: if my calculations are correct, a Kyogre with Drizzle and Mystic Water (like mine) using Surf will do a base damage of about 235. That and its ridiculous special attack (even though it's mediocre within the species) certainly explains why everything in Victory Road seems to die to it.
Took a lot longer than I thought (training level 50+ guys is hard when the wild and trained Pokemon you have access to usually don't top level 40) but I finally have
Level 50 Manectric
Level 50 Sableye
Level 52 Altaria
Level 52 Gardevoir
Level 54 Kyogre
Level 54 Blaziken
Hopefully that will do the job. I plan to make an attempt on the Elite later today, stay tuned.
Or not. Whatever.
Hey, I thought this was supposed to be *hard*. It took about 45 minutes. I downed, like, 80% of all the Pokémon I saw in one hit.
One humorous sequence came when Kyogre was fighting Metagross, after he'd been Full Restored. Kyogre got off a Surf and sent Metagross to red. Metagross was Full Restored again. This repeated until Steven ran out of Full Restores, and I won forthwith.
He used more Full Restores in that sequence (5) then I did (3). And not one of the three was actually needed to keep anybody from fainting, they were all insurance.
It was harder to train my guys up than to beat the E4. Maybe that's why. Maybe they wanted to give you a choice: work your butt off beating the E4 and have training be easy, or easily beat the E4 and have training be hard?
Hey, I'm back! Switzerland looks nothing like Iowa, it was beautiful! But the only chance I got to play Ruby was on the plane. Congratulations on beating the Elite Four Joe and Traz! I used a fire-type against Metagross at the same level and it was a one-hit wonder. Now I am working on catching the Regis and winning the contests well enough to get paintings in the Lilycove Museum. I just caught Regirock last night. Groudon just won the tough contest, Boink the Spoink won the cute contest and Cinderella the Feebas won the beauty contest. I discovered that if the other three contestants get alot more hearts than mine, I shut off the game and try again until the contestants are at a more competitive level. That might be cheating, but, hey, works for me! Rayquaza looks to be a likely candidate for the cool contest so I'm working on catching it now. I'm having a little trouble manuevering the mach bike though.
Thanks. I'm starting the sidequests (caught a Relicanth today) but what I really want to do is experiment in training your Pokemon in an optimal way, using Effort Values and stuff like that.
After some restarts I got a Beldum with a Lonely nature (Attack up, Defense down) and an Attack IV around 24-28. I slapped the Exp Share on it and am killing nothing but Shuppets. That's supposed to raise his attack. He's a Metang and at Level 22 now and his attack seems to be very slowly starting to stand out (currently stands at 52).
If his attack ends up rocking the house, I'll name him "Teru-Sama", throw him in the Battle Tower and see what happens.
Guest what?!?! I just caught Rayquaza - just using 4 ultra balls! How weird is that? I'm sooo excited that I can't sit still!!!!
What was Rayquaza's health/status effects? Sleep makes anything easier to catch.
I *could* have gone and caught Rayquaza today, BTW-- got through the cracks so I could do a bit of training-- but I didn't. My Pokemon are barely changed from when I beat the Elite Four since I'm focusing on sidequests.
One of those is the Regis. After figuring out fishing (took me long enough) I got a Wailmer, which I evolved into Wailord. Then I unlocked the Regis and caught them. Regice was easy, Regirock would have been if I hadn't accidentally paralyzed it with Dragonbreath (preventing sleep), but by the time I got to Registeel I was not only out of money but also rather low on balls (22 left).
I actually caught it on the first try with a Timer Ball, but restarted because I don't know how to get more. (Can someone help me?) After several restarts (the other ones needed none except the times I accidentally killed them), I finally got him. Incidentally I noticed that Regice has outstanding Special Defense, Regirock outstanding Defense, and Registeel is split between Defense and Special Defense.
I'm also still raising up Teru-Sama. The engineered Metang is now level 29 and has an attack of 71. I theorize that his attack is going up more per level as he gets older due to the fact that he needs to beat more and more Shuppets to gain a level, and the Shuppets give the same amount of stat EXP (one in Attack per Shuppet).
Hi Traz, here's the low down on my Rayquaza: it's ability is Air Lock, Level 70, HP - 244, speed - 155, attack - 231, defense - 149, special attack - 232, special defense - 148, and it has a Bashful nature. I named it Sky High (because the Pokedex called it the Sky High Pokemon - original huh!)
Here's the play by play. I used Sparkle's, my level 70 Manectric, Thunderbolt and Shock Wave (1 each) to bring it's HP way down, in the meantime I constantly had to use hyper potions to keep Sparkle alive from it's Outrage attacks, then it would use Rest. This sequence kept up for awhile, then the fourth time I threw an ultra ball at it - I got it!
If you want more timer balls, they can be purchased at the Rustboro City Pokemon Mart for 1,000.
"If you want more timer balls, they can be purchased at the Rustboro City Pokemon Mart for 1,000."
I have heard this claimed in many places. Gameboykid14's "Poke-Ball FAQ" and Wraith10's list of balls are some of them. (Both sources also claim that the Repeat Ball can be bought there for same price.)
However, when I tried to buy it, I didn't see the Timer Ball or Repeat Ball. Paradisio's walkthrough lists as a note, (not available until given to you by man you saved). Searching the same walkthrough I found under Rusturf Tunnel, "Also near the Rustboro cave the man you saved earlier should give you a repeat ball. After this you can buy
repeater and timer balls in Rustboro."
Off to Rusturf then. The Devon guy with the funny hair is standing there. After talking for too long he gives me a Repeat Ball. I head to the PokeMart and there are Repeat Balls and Timer Balls available.
I buy fifty.
Side notes on Rayquaza: it'd probably be easier to put it to sleep. Success in catching legendaries is the only reason I retained Hypnosis on Gardevoir and is the reason why I am eventually going to go through the pain and suffering of training an unevolved Shroomish to level 54 for Spore. (First I'll try to breed False Swipe on him.)
Also, my Manectric retained Spark over Shock Wave-- it learns it naturally, has slightly better power and has a 30% chance of paralysis, which I thought outweighed the Swift-type behavior.
Of course, now it has Charge in that slot. Just playing around with it to see if it's any good. None of these guys are going to be my human-to-human battle team anyway, so I feel justified in taking small liberties with movesets.
And yeah, that nickname sucks. Meh. I named Future Metagross after a useless GSC item you can only shark in. Sky High can't be *that* much worse. Can it?
Also guys: should I use my Master Ball on Rayquaza or the Lati? Take into consideration that Sableye does know Mean Look and I do plan to train up a Wobbuffet (with its ability that prevents fleeing)...
On the other hand, with the Lati I don't have much of a replay chance.. if Lati pops up and I accidentally KO it, that's it, I don't get it. I could easily save in front of Rayquaza and keep on fighting him..
Another factor to consider is that rumor has it that most of Lati's DVs are set in the factory, and they're straight 0s (see "Latios' IVs?" topic in the Azure Heights boards, "Azure Pokemon Center" forum, azureheights.com/forum).
If I go through a rigorous battle to catch something and it has crappy DVs I'm going to stick with it. I might want to save in front of Rayquaza, chuck the Master Ball, check its stats, repeat ad infinitum..
Sorry I haven't been here in a while. There's been a lot of weird things going on in my life at the moment. I haven't had much time to work on my game, at the moment, I'm filling up my pokedex, and training my 3 favorites for the battle tower. Currently, I've logged 61 hours and 16 minutes. I first beat the elite four after 40 hours and 33 minutes. Still, It's taking forever to level up.

Everything is so difficult. It takes about an hour just to get one level. It's driving me insane. Thanks everyone for listening.
Isshi, on your Gardevoir, recommend you forego some/all of Confusion/Hypnosis/Future Sight for Calm Mind/Double Team/Thunderbolt. My Gardevoir knows Psychic/T-Bolt/Calm Mind/Hypnosis, but I doubt Hypnosis will stay on -- it's mostly for catching help. If you kept Hypnosis, maybe you should have considered Dream Eater to go with it.
Even if Chimecho didn't have three Psychic moves, I still think you should toss it. IIRC (I've never seriously trained one) Bug types are Super Effective against both Psychics and Darks. Bug types are becoming something to worry about in R/S with the introduction of Silver Wind (basically a Bug Ancientpower).
Even if you decide to train a Chimecho, how can you leave off Heal Bell? With the exception of Skitty's line, he's the only guy in R/S that learns the move naturally (Roselia gets the equivalent Aromatherapy). And people have been known to go through complex breeding chains involving Smeargles to get Heal Bell on some Pokemon, it's that good. (Heal Bell removes all extant status ailments in your party.)
I can see a Volbeat with Signal Beam sweeping your team, mate. That's pretty sad. Recommend you replace Chimecho with a Fire-type or something.
I just want to say that I love reading the hardcore commentary from you guys... with all the stats and moves and battle theory. "I can see a Volbeat with Signal Beam sweeping your team, mate" is a great quote! It's nice to see folks that appreciate Pokemon for the deep, layered game that it is! Most people recall it as just "that kids' fad from Christmas '99."
I just ran the values through my damage calculator, which while hastily programmed uses the canonical formula and should be accurate. It was written to give random values, and I *could* adjust it to give min/max if I so desired, but for now I just ran about 20 iterations and recorded the results.
Assuming max Attack, max Defense and level 100 for all participants, Signal Beam coming out of Volbeat will do around 180-205 damage to a Gardevoir, 175-200 damage to a Chimecho and 185-210 damaage to an Absol. The max values for HP for your guys with a stalemate personality (Defense got the beneficial) are 340, 334 and 334. All values according to Chris Fritz (Meowth346)'s dex, which is usually accurate.
I think that's guaranteed 2HKOs for all three. You've definitely got a problem.
Note also that Signal Beam has a 10% chance to confuse.
To Joe, if I wasn't interested in battle theory I wouldn't still be playing. When I was playing R/B in 1998 as a nine-year-old kid, yeah, the game's plotline was good enough for me. But now I want to know enough to be able to take on the rest of the world.
I don't yet, but I'm getting there.
Also Joe, in your latest diary entry you noted that "creating larger and better pokemon is why we play the game" and lamented that the Battle Tower doesn't give you experience points. Well, I consider it a challenge, just like link cable matches. Once my guys are level 100 across the board, I won't forget about them, because I'll still have the *challenge* of making them better than everybody else's level 100 guys. It's the same thing with the Battle Tower, if/when I have a team to take them on it'll mostly be for prestige that I do it.
And also I hear that for long streaks you get held items as prizes. gruco posted on the Azure Heights board in April:
"the list of prizes after the 35th win -
Bright Powder
White Herb
Quick Claw
Mental Herb
Choice Band
King's Rock
Focus Band
Scope Lens
Leftovers"
OMG SCOPE LENS.
After I posted that Battle Tower complaint, I received a great email from Megumi of Japan listing much of what you just said. Rare items is a much better reward than some junk I could buy at the department store. So I will give it another try.
Now I need somebody to find some benefits to the weird Battle Cards, and I'll be all set!
Thanks everyone for your advice, and it just so happens that I'd already changed my team before I even came back here. It's kinda weird how it happened. Anyway, I was evolving pokemon to fill out my pokedex, and I got to my Surskit who I caught a long time ago at level 25. I figured that'd mean it would probably evolve soon and that I should go throught the trouble of putting it in daycare, but rather just slap the experience share on it and head for the elite four. During the first battle with Sidney, Surskit gained enough points to grow to level 26, and lo and behold, started to evole into what would later be called a Masquerain. I figured it'd probably end up going from it's rather cute starting form, to something big and unnaturally ugly. Boy was I ever wrong. It evolved into the cutest bug type I've ever seen in my entire life, and I feel in love. I just couldn't bear not to have him in my party, so I ditched Gardevoir in the PC, and began levelling up my newest addition. He's got a Calm nature, so he'll have a high special defense, and a lower attack, which actually works out pretty well considering my other two favorites are jolly, speed up, special attack down, and rash special attack up, special defense down. I haven't really had much time to level him up yet, so I'll tell you about his stats and what attacks I plan for him to have.
Pokemon: Masquerain
Type: Bug / Flying
Current stats:
Level: 35
HP: 108
Attack: 46
Defense: 50
Special Attack: 71
Special Defense: 78
Speed: 53
I plan on having his attacks be special rather than normal, because of the calm nature so here's what I have planned so far.
Bubble Beam (Already knows this one, from when he was a bug water type Surskit)
Power: 65
Accuracy: 100
Silver Wind (Can raise status conditions, will be more powerful for being the same type as Masquerain)
Power: 60
Accuracy:100
Rain Dance: (To increase the power for his two water type moves)
Water Pulse: (I'm going with water moves even though Masquerain isn't a water type because they're special attacks, and his attack is weak, plust rain dance will help raise their effectiveness)
Power: 60
Accuracy: 100
I don't know if this bugs any of you as much as it does me, but I just can't stand it when I get to an obstacle and I don't have a pokemon with me that knows the HM move to get past it. I absolutely despise backtracking. So, for these past few days, I've been trying to pack HM's onto as few pokemon as possible so I can simply carry them around the whole time. I finally managed to fit all 8 HM's onto only two pokemon. I was so happy. Now I can carry around my three favorites, my HM pokemon, and any pokemon I'm currently trying to level up, or enter in a contest. Anyway, I just thought that maybe this annoyed someone else as much as it did me so here are the two amazing pokemon that have saved my sanity when it comes to this game.
Tropius: Weird looking palm tree like dinosaur pokemon.
Can learn the HM's:
Fly
Cut
Strength
Rock Smash
Lombre: Creepy pokemon that looks like a lillypad with a face and legs underneath it.
Can learn the HM's:
Flash
Surf
Waterfall
Dive
That's a great suggestion. Packing all 8 HMs onto two creatures will save a lot of party space. Currently, my HMs are mixed among five pokemon... Sableye (Flash), Sceptile (Cut), Mightyena (Strength, Rock Smash), Swellow (Fly), Golduck (Swim, Waterfall, Dive.) Which has left me only one slot for any other random choice! Thanks for the tip.
hey guys i just got a game shark but i dont know how to use it can anyone help me???????
Hey Chaos,
I don't have a gameshark myself, but some of my friends have had them in the past. I believe what you do is find codes on the internet, and then imput them into the gameshark. They trigger different things to happen.
By the way, does anyone here have a livejournal?
Good idea with the Lombre and Tropius. My Tropius actually knows all those moves already, and I could dig up my Pokedex-completion Lotad and evolve it.
Somebody mentioned once that a Chinchou and Lickitung could learn most of the HMs and out of battle techniques in G/S/C (like Headbutt).
Of course, the easiest (?) solution there is a couple of Smeargles. Someday I'll get Fly, Cut, Flash and Rock Smash on him to go with my old Red Gyarados with Surf, Strength, Whirlpool and Waterfall..
Something else that bugs me about Battle Tower: opposing pokemon don't count towards your pokedex. I've seen a Golem and a Wailord in the Tower, and my 'dex looks like I've never seen them!
Joe, I definately agree with you. Battle Tower sounded like it was going to be a great new challenge, but in the end, it's not very useful at all. It's mainly just there for bragging rites, and if I weren't so picky about finishing the entire game, I'd probaby just skip it. As it stands, I'm levelling up my level 50 team which consists of Pikachu (gotta love this cute electirc rat), Flygon, and Masquerain. Only a few more levels left to go!
Hi Joe, i found your diary a few days ago and it has been a nice source of information for me to look upon as i progressed through my game. Currently i am on a quest to fill my pokedex through evolutions. I've fought the elite four and steven around 25 times for experience to evolve most of my non-party pokemon with the exp. share. I've pretty much developed beating the elite four and Steven into a fine art, using only Kyogre (lvls 55-65) and Gardevoir (only because Kyo's moves run out of pp).
My team to beat the elite four the first time involved this party of 6....
Gardevoir lvl 63
Marshtomp lvl 49
Kyogre lvl 45
Slaking lvl 49
Hariyama lvl 40 (only used items with him)
Lourdred lvl 40 (same as above)
Now for the point of this post. You mentioned you needed to locate a relicanth in diary 12, well i found one. If you surf through the water from lilycove to mossdeep there are a series of underwater caverns you can dive into. In a couple of these are different colored shards which can be given to the hunter on a lone island in the surrounding water for the corresponding color stone. Now i can't exactly remember which cavern found my little relicanth in, but it was in the seafloor seaweed in one of the caverns with a one way passageway to the shard (by one way i mean when you dive in there is only 1 way to go to another divers hole where you can surface, but the only way you can get out of the enclosed area is by going through the same passageway in reverse).
I hope this helps you somewhat.
hey guys loving this site, i have ruby and sapphire and trying to transfer my groudon to sapphire. All i have is a GBA and GBA SP but they wont trade. WHATS WRONG. Buy the way i skrewed up big time in sapphire and didnt get the master ball!! and sall latias omg i flipped. anyways i still have the master ball on ruby, saving it for latios. i got all regis and they pretty much stink. I only use registeel so i can stall for a lil. and i realy dont no how to fish, the damn fishes always get away CAN SOMEONE HELP ME ON MY TWO PROBLEMS, thanks alot
does anyone no the deal about mirage island and when it shows... get back at me and my last post
When you fish a text screen will come up and dots will start to appear, when you see the box say "Something is on the hook" or whatever it says you press the a button. If it starts another series of dots you just have to do the same thing, this is basically to create the illusion that you are reeling a fish in from the depths of the sea, but i understand it can be pretty confusing.
so when it says oh a bite u click A
i get it thanks
Hay guys waz up? The roof haha got ya. l8ter gator? peace out.
Thanks for the Relicanth tip... I'll be checking that out soon.
I've been levelling up some basics that are mostly in the 30s... and I stupidly talked to Wally again back in Victory Road. Well of course he wanted to fight, but he team is waaaay over my current party... so it was an embarrassing defeat, followed by a chastened restart.
I also found a friend's secret base and battled his character, but his team was wildly improved since we mixed records. I guess the game treats Secret Base trainers just like other trainers! I was figuring he's be a perennial chump and some easy experience (until the next time we exchanged data.) Interestingly, once I was defeated (shame!) it did not go to the usual "whited out" sequence but just ended the battle and healed my party back up.
someone help me.. do i need two GBAS to trade, or can i use one GBA and a GBA SP
Corey, there's no difference between the SP and the regular GBA... you can use either to trade between two Pokemon Sapphire/Ruby cartridges. Maybe your cable is bad? Are you using the genuine Nintendo GBA cable?
yeah, but its not working on the please wait screen it will take forever i left it on and went outside and came back it was still there. maybey a bad cable ill have to check my other. Or maybay that cable is for gbc im not sure ill get back at you
Hi guys! Welcome to the web-site Corey.
I've put Ruby aside for awhile. I've caught all the Regis and won all five contests and have completed the pokedex as far as I can. So now I am starting over with Sapphire. I'm trying not to use any of my favorites from Ruby. So far, I've fallen in love with my Zigzagoon, I didn't even use it in Ruby. Not only is it tough, but it can learn a great number of the HMs. And it also picks up objects in battle from the very start that you normally don't have access to until much later in the game: Full Heal, Full Restore, Ultra Balls, King's Rock, etc. It doesn't even have to be in the battle, just in the party...cool huh! So far my team is in the low 20s. I also am training up a Sableye, its such a cute little thing, wasn't in Ruby. Any suggestions for a fire-type?
hey, does any one know where to find a chimecho or a trapinch. I cant find them.
Corey, I copied Isshi's posting from May 4 for info on how to find Chimecho:
"I know how you feel, it took me about a week to catch my Chimecho, but I finally figured out how. It takes a lot of patience, but it's worth it in the end."
Trapinch can be found in that place where the sandstorm is always going on.
Good luck!
wow, im playin ruby and while searching for chimecho i found shuppet. And thats sapphire only. strange
hey guys, just found chimecho after about and hr i found it. thanks alot
im tryin to hunt down snorunt so i can evolve it into glalie. and a bagon to evolve into salamence. neone no locations
Hey everyone, last night i was checking on my berries at the berry master's house and i went through 1 and only 1 patch of grass on the way there. I had 1 pokemon encounter and guess what it was, Latias. I quickly unleashed my masterball and caught it. My pokedex is now at 132 pokemon owned and still growing.
I also heard that you can obtain a 2nd masterball if you win the lottery at the lillycove department store.
Ruby, my favorite fire type pokemon would have to be torkoal. I think you can get him pretty early on (when i caught mine it was level 15) and he starts off with a mixture of moves (Ember, Smog, Curse, and Smokescreem) and his passive ability white smoke prevents ability reduction. Moves he learns later on include Heat wave, iron defense, and flamethrower. He has a generous amount of defense, mediocre hp, and he is pretty slow (but hey, he's a turtle after all). But if you hate turtles or just don't like the way he looks i think your next best bet would be a numel or slugma (ugly!) since they are found in the same area as the torkoal. I'm pretty sure these 3 pokemon are the earliest fire based pokemon that you can get (other than torchic of course).
hey gradulations on your find. last night i was fishing for feebaas for about an hour!, nothing. im going to keep tryin. im gonna try that lottery
but what are the odds of winning, probly a waste of money
HEY i just did everything in the trick house, and the last prize was the blue tent, does anyone no what it does
It's probably a decoration for your secret base/room. The lottery doesn't cost anything to play, you just go in and talk to the lady on the right in the lillycove department store and your pokemon's id number has to match the number she picks.
so you have to have 4 of the pokemon she picks to get the master ball,
I don't think that's how you win, if you look at your pokemon in the summary section it has the same ID # for all of them. I'm pretty sure that's the number she wants. That probably means that to increase your chance of winning the lottery (which is probably randomized) you need to trade pokemon with other people who have seperate pokemon cartridges. I'm thinking that each pokemon sapphire and ruby game has a specific ID number that was assigned to them in order of production, therefore if your ID number is 02355, your pokemon sapphire or ruby cartridge was the 2355th game produced.
I need to know how to find a feebas, and also how do I catch Latios in Ruby I am having much trouble any help please email to me by clicking my name.
Information on both were posted earlier. Just go to gamefaqs.com and they have a pokemon ruby and sapphire section with a whole faq for catching latias/latios and feebas.
i cant find timer balls any where!! what do i have to do
Talk to all; of the people in the devon corp building, the inventors of the timer and repeat balls reside in there. I think when you talk to them they'll say "We're working on two new pokeballs, the timer ball and repeat ball..... and they're working!" or something of that nature. Then you can go to the department store in the same city and buy them.
hey thanks for the tip ill try it out, also i have another problem. IN the r,s walkthrough in the sidequest there the ss tidal where you get the leftovers are, and when i take the ship it only takes me to where i want to go how do i get inside the boat? i would appreciate it. ive done every sidequest except this one, the abandoned ship, regis, contests, except this one.
my pokedex is almost complete i just need 2 more
pokemon guess who they are
feebass and milotic!! :mad grrr
Wow, I feel so special. My post actually helped people. I never thought it possible. It's good to hear from you again Ruby. I've missed you.
it didnt help me and whos ruby and i gotta action replay (somthin like a gameshark) today so im gonna use it! :) :249
hey my team on RUBY just beat the elite four
aggron level 47
registeel level 47
groudon level 73
sceptile level 59
salamence level 55
walrein level 57
Took awhile too beat them, my groudon killed everyone in one attack, but he was useless against drake and steven cuz hes pp would run out and he has ground type moves with are unafected by dragon. but then i trained up a spheal from level 30 to 57 and use ice beam to kill the dragons in one shot
where can i find a heart scale!
I have one of those. What's the heart scale used for? Just a hold item?
well if you forget a move by accident and u want to get it back you give it to this man in fallabror town. i need one cuz i forgot a move on my sceptile for false swipe but it isnt helpin
his moves are gigadrain, slam, and leaf blade, and other move someone has in mind for sceptile because false swipe isnt workin for me.
ANYWAYS where can i find this heart scale
Something makes me think I found it in one of those underwater locations off the coast of Lilycove.
By the way, I just got back from the Origins gaming convention and the folks at the Nintendo / Pokemon booth said that Toys R Us will have Eon Tickets beginning mid-July. They didn't see if they were free or part of a league or something to buy.
well have ne suggestions for a 4th move on my sceptile
were do you find the gym leader in sootopolis town.
corey can you answer my Question please
sorry i ment jared
you have to complete the cave of origin quest. find the under water cavern south of mossdeep and dive to get there. Then inside is the legendary kyogre if your playin sapphire or groudon if your playing ruby, you dont get a chance to catch him yet. he will run off and cause a disaster. Then goto sootopolis and north of the gym is the cave of origin enter and find the legendery pokemon try and catch it, stock up on ultra balls and timer balls, dont use your master ball you got in the team aqua/magma hideout save that for latios/latias. after you find and capture kyogre/groudon return to the sootopolis gym and he'll be there. His gym is tricky you have to step on each piece of ice and the last piece has to allow you to the next sheet of ice. Good Luck
Hello all,
This is the very 1st time that I drop a message on this message board, although I always enjoy reading Joe's great diary and message board.(I have no confidence of my English skill,So please forgive me if I make strange sentences.)
>corey
(If you've already known how to get Heart Scales,
please skip my message.)
You can find some heart scales at coasts of Hoenn by using Itemfinder.
And if you have some pokemons that knows "Thief" or "Covet", you can get heart scales from
"Rabukasu"(sorry for using Japanese Name;the heart shaped red fish that are found at EverGrande(In front of Pokemon League. They often have heart scales.) infinitely.
My team
Rayquaza Lv96
Kyogre Lv95
Swampert Lv66
Metagross Lv63
Flygon Lv63
Altaria Lv54(still raising)
Pretty good huh.
I restarted my game .... I don't know why. I just did. I wasn't happy with the way it was going. So I'm only on the 4th gym. Oh, and the pokemon with the heart scales name in English is Luvdisc.
Can you catch a latios in Sapphire?
You can if you get an Eon Ticket from Nintendo and scan it as a Mystery Event. Eon Tickets were first given out at E3, and they're supposed to be coming to Toys R Us in mid-July (I don't know what you have to do to get them, however.) To use the Eon Ticket, you'll need a second GBA with an eReader attached, plus you need to have unlocked Mystery Events in your Sapphire/Ruby.
Once you scan the ticket, you get an Eon Ticket in your inventory. Show it to the ferry captain and you can travel to a new island. There you can catch Latias or Latios, depending on which one is "native" to your Sapphire/Ruby. I've read you can only go to this island once, but I don't know if that's true.
Also, if you don't have an eReader, if you mix records with someone who already has an Eon Ticket, you will get a copy of the Eon Ticket. This only works with someone who actually scanned the card into their own game however. IE, once a first-generation Eon Ticket reproduces it, the copies do not have that ability.
I've just realized something. That despite the better graphics, more side quests, and bigger world or Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire, I love my old games better. I don't exacly know why, but Pokemon Yellow has, and always will be my favorite. I loved my character, my rival, and my adorable little Pikachu that followed me around everywhere with hearts above its head. So, after coming to this conclusion, I've decided that I want to go back to playing Yellow, but I finished that game, and I'm very proud of it. The only solution, get another Yellow game, but this time, I'm getting the original Japanese version. I don't like all the Americanized names. I don't see why they had to fiddle with them in the first place. I won't neglect my Sapphire game, I just probably won't play it as much.
Good points. In some ways, Ruby/Sapphire is a step backward from G/S/C. I really liked G/S/C's real-time aspect especially. R/S doesn't do half of the real-time stuff half as well. And I loved having Pikachu follow you around in Yellow.
This is all speculation on my part, but I would guess Nintendo is readying an Emerald version - just like Yellow or Crystal - and hopefully it will have some enhancements.
One great thing about R/S is the ton of sidequests, although many of them are insanely difficult to pull off.
Yo. Has anyone here caught a Milotic? I would like to know if it's another type besides water, I'm going though this little party pokemon switching phase before I take on the 8th gym. Also I would like to know if anyone has any good suggestions for a nice grass type, I kept my Treecko from evolving and now it knows horrid moves. I'm thinking of the grass/fighting evolution form of shroomish, I had it last time I played my Ruby and it worked well, I tend to nickname my party pokemon, so I'm not to keen on names...
Well, by caught I obviously mean 'got', seeing as you can't really catch one. My team includes a Camerupt (Kentei), Treecko (Aoshi[-sama]), Lanturn (Senenyo), Skarmory (Kaze ga), Xatu (Kalohaku), and an Absol (Seiretsu). As one can pretty much see I'm trying to cover as much types as possible, and they're all at level 45. So, any suggestions?
I finally caught every legendary pokemon in the Sapphire version except for Latios.
Ive seen the secret island in another website Joe.But I forgot what the website was called. The island was small it had puddles of water around the grass and in the middle of the island is a huge egg. Press a to talk to it. After that the legendary pokemon Latios or Latias will appear.
Hi! I'm still having a good time with Sapphire. Since I completed most of Ruby, I try different experiments just for kicks. Is anyone still having trouble catching a Feebas? I think I might have discovered one answer to finding them. I remembered (finally) what the the conditions were in Ruby when I caught my eight Feebas and tried to repeat it in Sapphire, and IT WORKED!!!! I just caught six. If anyone is interested in the details, just let me know.
Right now I have six badges. Torkoal has become a favorite (thanks, Olavan), along with Linoon, Swampert, and Sableye. I have them all trained up to level 45 and just about to head to Mossdeep.
EON TICKET UPDATE! http: //www.pokemon-games.com/ eon.html The Toys R Us/Eon Ticket thing is some kind of summer tour. Check that URL for the nearest tour stop to you. I happen to have two tour stops near me coming up this weekend, so I will check it out and let you all know how it goes!
I finally caugt a Feebas. And thats not all, I also found a Gold Magikarp. I caught both of them.
I finally caugt a Feebas. And thats not all, I also found a Gold Magikarp. I caught both of them.
I finally caugt a Feebas. And thats not all, I also found a Gold Magikarp. I caught both of them.
Oops I accidently posted two of what I typed. Sorry.
I need to catch a Feebas. I need to know what is the best saying to use at Dewford Town. Any suggestions??
Welcome Poke! The saying in Dewford that worked for me was "Lacks Lessons". Then go to Fortree City and by the place you enter the water near the Weather Institute, surf to the very first place you come to downstream, then surf to the other side of the rock. I caught six there. Both the good and super rods work. Good luck!
Stopped by the Toys'R Us in Lancaster, Pa this afternoon and I am still glowing. There was a tent set up in the parking lot with two young lads (one in a red ruby shirt and the other in a blue sapphire shirt)giving out freebies and EON tickets. I only have one badge so, I didn't get to do the mystery event, but I got to watch Joe take part in the EON ticket download. We also picked up a pichu and mewtwo figure (ask for the mewtwo if you don't see it out...they have them stashed under the counter). We also got 2 sets of pins. The highlight was the pikachu bug. I would trade in my ford contour in a second to drive that little bug with the wooper in the back window. Long live pokemon!
plzzzzz ppl i HAVE to get a wailmer but i just dont do well with the rods...does any1 know another way?if u do plz mail me at joao_thesnake@hotmail.com plzzzzzz............tks
SnakeJohn, the easiest way I found to catch Wailmer is to go to Shoal Cave during high tide, just inside, near the old man. It still involves using your rod, but it's not bad once you get the hang of it. In fact, as far as I know, using a rod is the only way. Use your super rod. I find it easier to register it. Then when it says "Oh, a bite!" Immediately hit "a" just once, and do that each time it says that. It may go on for 3 or 4 times, then it will say "A pokemon is on the hook!" and the battle is on! Be patient and good luck!
188 pokemon seen
156 pokemon caught
This is what I have so far.
I got an Action Replay. And I used a code to get a Groudon in sapphire. Now Ive got him.
I'm gearing up to tackle the Sky Pillar, but the trip there is highly annoying. How many ultra balls will I need? I'm packing 40+! Recently caught all three Regis; still haven't actually used my EON Ticket because I've been busy training up and evolving some overlooked pokemon.
Cheers to all our European Pokemon fans, who are just now getting Ruby & Sapphire. Welcome aboard, folks.
Hey everyone, I'm back ..... (Not like I was missed, he he he).
Do you have any idea how hard it is to play Pokemon in japanese? I can't understand a thing that's going on. I'm playing the yellow version, and I can't remember all the things you need to do in order to get into Saffron City I've been to the game corner and defeated Giovanni, and I've been to the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town. Do any of you remember what else might be needed? I'd really appreciate some help.
Hi. I'm new to this site and was just reading through. I currently have 5 badges in Saphire. In my two previous games before I got the guide book I normally would go for the next badge right away but I'm now working on my Pokedex. I own 63 out of the 111 that I've seen. I bread two Pikachu's to get Pichu. Then i traded one of them for a Skitty. Currently my team is:
Pichu lv.14 Sassy Nature with: Thunderbolt, Hidden Power, Thundershock, and Return
Skitty(traded) lv.26 Timid Nature with: Dig, Double Slap, Assist, Sing
Swapert lv.39 Docile Nature with: Mud Shot, Muddy Water, Surf and Water Gun
Crobat lv.38 Quiet Nature with: Bite, Wing Attack, Fly, and Steel wing
Grumpig lv.38 Gentile Nature with: Psychic, Magic Coat, Psybeam, and Secret Power.
I'm working on raising everyone to Lv.40 even though the Flying Gym Leader is easy to beat (except for Alitar.) The final pokemon for my team is going to be Blaziken. I barrowing my friends so I can breed my own torchic. Its a pain! Any way A lot of you were complaining about battle tower. Well if you go to the menu and hit your name it shows your Trainer Card. This card changes color when you complete tasks. One task is 50 straight wins in battle towwer. Others include filling your pokedex, getting Master Rank in all five cattigories, and Defeating the Elite four. They might be another.
And as far as contests go:
Crobat holds the cool contest in all four ranks.
Pichu holds two cool ribbons
and my Torkoal holds one Beauty ribbon.
I would of kept Torkoal on my team but I just love Blaziken.
Some one was wondering why Shedinja only had 1 hp. The reason I'm guessing is because the ability "Wonder Guard" prevents all attacks other than Super Effective attacks. This means Shedinja is almost invinsible. Fire, Rock, Dark, and a few others will hurt it only. (Dark might not since Bug has an advantage over Dark)
Did anybody else have any luck catching Feebas? Kiel is still in need of suggestions. Mine doesn't seem to be working for him.
Q-bone, thanks for the info on Shedinja. I haven't evolved one yet. I completed most of Ruby and then moved on to Sapphire. I'm about to take on the Elite Four for the first time in Sapphire. Torchic was my favorite in Ruby and Torkoal has been my favorite fire-type in Sapphire. I do plan on combining my favorites into one game.
I missed you Isshi! The only other thing I can remember that is necessary to get to Saffron City is to buy an extra bottle of water at the Celadon Department Store to give to the guard at the Saffron City gate so he'll let you through.
Hi Joe! I only used 5 Ultra Balls to catch Rayquaza. He kept resting and I got him while he was asleep.
Type at ya later!
By the way, Conrad, where did you find the gold Magikarp. I haven't seen one - got to have it!
Hi everyone. Last night I beat the Pokemon league.
This was my team:
Shelgon LV: 48 w/Rock Smash, Dragon Claw, Dragon Breath, Brick Break
Crobat LV: 49 w/ Posion Fang, Sludge Bomb, Aerial Ace, Fly
Swampert LV: 51 w/ Surf, Dive, Waterfall, Earthquake
Grumpig LV: 48 w/ Psychic, Psybeam, Rest, Shadow Ball
Raichu LV: 50 w/ Thunder, Thunderbolt, Hyper Beam, Strength
I didn't have the Blaziken I wanted because my friend went on vacation. I went to Block Busters to barrow theirs and they didn't have Ruby or Saphire.
Now will the Lati just randomly appear? I need him and Raykalza so I can own all the Legonds.
(I agree with you about the Regi's they are the worst legends. I think there suppose to resemble the Titans from Greek Mythology)
I caught Rayklaza (or whatever its name is) with JUST 1 ULTRA BALL. I hit him with Thunder a couple times while it slept. Then I used the ball. :) :) :) :)
I found latias. I was on the way to Mt. Pyre. I used my Masterball. Are latios and latias the only legonds with a gender? and is Latios a male because latias was a female?
Ruby, I LOVE YOU! *glomp* You just saved my sanity! I'd totally forgotten about the guard being thirsty. Stupid guard, you think he could get his own water! Well, anyway, now that I can acutally DO something in my game, I'm gonna start playing again. I'll probably be back again later today to complain about another place I've gotten stuck in. Luckily for me, the ultimate pokemon genius, Ruby, will be here to solve all my problems!
Heyx, think ur diary is great, lotza tips. btw, how do u get to the 4th gym, which town is it situated in?

Hi everyone. I just started the game yesterday. I have four pokemon: Combusken, Mightyena, Loudred, and Aron. All around lv.20 I have more pokemon on PC.
If you guys haven't heard, Nintendo is planning on re-releasing the original Pokemon games, Red and Green. (Although no confirmation of a US release yet.) They will linkup with Ruby/Sapphire and Collosseum... so there's one upcoming way to catch all the types not normally available in R/S. Hopefully Nintendo will do a real nice job updating the graphics and gameplay of Red and Green to bring them up to the Advance generation standard, or else it will be a pretty lame way to get us to buy the same game all over again!
I was on the Pokemon Elite 2000 site when I read about the new Red/Green. The officail names are Leaf Green and Fire Red. You guys should check out the site. If you go to the Pokemon Ruby and Sappire section there are 300 and some odd pictures from the GBA. The first page has Ruby/Sappire and the second has Bulbasaur through Celbei not including the oes on th previous page. These will be the graphics for the new games. They even have a screenshot of the Japaneese version showing a Bulbasaur vs. Charmander.
Hola! High again. I have finnaly caught all 200. Are there any Promotional Pokemon like mew?
Ok, I know this most likely will not help ANYONE, but everyone I know didn't know this...
After you dilever all the stuff for Mr. Stone or whoever, Talk to him AGAIN and you will get Exp. Share.

Hey, I have an Action Replay AND a Gameshark, and I have yet to find any codes that involve getting the pokemon from the older games (e.g, Chikorita, Squirtle, Mew). If anyone, ANYONE, could give me the address to a website that has this information, I'd be SOOOO thankful!
Where in the hell do you catch the regis
Michael: I don't cheat in my games so I can't help you on the AR/Gameshark request... I know they're out there somewhere because the kid who lives next door has ARed his copy of Sapphire completely!
Ian: Go to GameFAQS.com and look for the Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire FAQs. There's lots of help available there. That's where I found out how to catch the Regis. The first step involves catching a Relicanth and a Wailord, so you might as well find them first.
Hey everyone, long long time no see, mostly because I've had absolutely no time to play my pokemon game. I've been spending all my time drawing either pictures for my friends for their Christmas presents or drawing my manga. Anyway, I got really bored one Monday night and decided that I didn't really need to sleep before going to school. I couldn't find my Sapphire game though so I ended up playing Crystal. I restarted the game and decided I wanted to see exactly how far I could get before I had to leave in the morning. Surprisingly, I actually managed to beat the elite four, guess that's probably because I usually don't like to use so many items but this time I went into the battle with pokemon under level 50 and a whole lot of revives and hyper potions. My team was:
Espeon: Level 49
Umbreon: Level 47
Vaporeon: Level 32
Jolteon: Level 32
Flareon: Level 32
Eevee: Level 36
In the extra hour I had left I managed to level everyone up to:
Espeon: Level 53
Umbreon: Level 53
Vaporeon: Level 36
Jolteon: Level 35
Flareon: Level 34
Eevee: Level 42
Not so terrible for trying to play when I was half awake. I might just have to do another all night stand tonight, it's already 2 in the morning. Anyway, I'll talk to you all later when I actually get around to playing my Sapphire game.
Hey I did the stupidest thing, sold my dig right after I found the place to dig for the Regi's! I need to know where else you can get it plz!
And also where do you first see latias on pokemon sapphire, email me on woopy_3@hotmail.com thanks!
yes well if you want ALL the pokemon just get a AR or Action replay ( i have one ) and i have 99 master balls....and all the pokemon! and a gold traniner card unlike that green one to get at the start.the AR is king i got 99 of all the teums even the EON tict and the red AND bule orb to KEEP and i can walk ANYware in the game even over the daycare fren...i tried to talk the the pokemon thay say noting and its just trees that you can see in the back BUT STILL..... i have all the things i need! i mean all the things and i wint to sites and got MORE codes ( its a game hacker) oh and as i was reading you info of like 137 hours HA! 259! muhahahaha!
oh yeah? you can get 99 DIGS with AR i did the samething i usethe dig on my pokemon and it wanted to larn a new ATT so i overid the dig...and i l8r found out that i NEEDED it! thats WHY i got AR...it give me all the TM's and HM's 1-50! GET AR...its preload with 3000 codes E-Z you use and you can up-load more via pc! and you CANT and i mean CANT get dig agane not even by have gound pokemon raez lvls thay wont larn it none of em do
well i started my game over again because i didnt like blaziken to much. so this time i chose a mudkip. after i finished beating the elite four i was on route 118 to catch a few pokemon i had missed before and i ran into a latias i didnt want it to run away so i used the masterball on it when i first seen it so now i very happy because i have almost all of the legendaries.
also how do you change the town phrase?
As for Dig, can't you just go to the Move Tutor in Fallarbor Town and have him restore the lost Dig move? I've never tried it, since I rarely use the TMs, but I think that would work to get your Dig back. Maybe. Or I guess you could buy an Action Replay and get a million Digs, hooray you.
I used Dig when I went after the Regis, and then it kinda bothered me that Dig was missing from my TM list... so I took the one from our copy of Ruby and traded it over attached to a Koffing.
ow..ok your right. but after 237+ hours of game play WITH OUT CHEATS and walk thu's i got sick of hunting for pokemon + i did even have dig anymore so i couldn have got the riges WITH OUT IT.and i think AFTER compleing the game you shuld cheat.and i think after beating the E4 168+ times i think thats comepleaing it. so i just gor AR a week or 2 ago and i am still added new codes and i am have WAY more fun thin you "joe".
+ you know that i know that you know that i know that you know you want AR. Dont fight itO-(-_-*Q) inbrace it t(^_^t)

Just a friendly warning: downloading ROM images of games you don't own is illegal. (And Nintendo's official position is that you shouldn't even grab ROMs of games you do already own.) The game is going to be out in the US in a matter of months. I'll wait until then to play it.
lolz fine be that way (^_^) its great! btw did you know that i have warez hacks cracks and keygenz to? along with over 30 roms? nah i bet you didn. besides its only lieglle IF you have it for more then 24 hours and yes i have had it for WAY more then that but for you guys who just wanta TRY it...ya can lol. oh yeah when was the last time you guys saw a 30+ year old guy play a 5 and up game? dude you MUST really be alone! lolz ok anyway bye bye
FOR now!
you know neo its not very bright to brag about downloading things illegally on a web site then insulting the owner now is it
Trust me "nameless" you dont start a fight you can’t finish. As for, "Bragging" yes, I do. But who cares!? There is like only 100 hits on this page a day! But my point, is that in this vast space of what we now call "the Internet", is getting ever larger and the bigger it gets the harder it is to be tracked. It is now way too hard to control it anymore. And so people are going’Na do what thay wanta do. So whatever happens, happens. There is noting you, Joe, or me can do about it. It’s in the people’s hands and thay will do what thay want to do. Remember that. One small remark should not be taken like that. god! Have a Sense of humor! If you take RV1 searely you will find your self-alone. Take a few shots! its not even any of your bisness of what I say to him (Joe) anyway, I like joe's page, but all I am doing is having a little fun if I didn like this page I wood not be here now wood I? No. RIGHT good under stand? Now go lisn to M&M now!
wow neo you are a very intelligent person what with the misspelling of the words and everything. i almost feel wounded with your words, no, your mighty misspeled words please stop the madness neo, stop!!!
Neo, you're right. It's highly unlikely that the ROM police will come after you for all your illegal software. But publicly posting your email address makes it a little more likely. Not to mention all the juvenile posturing about it.
lol your right, but its to-late now all i can hope for is that the PO-lice dont go to pokemon sites to read about pokemon! besides i am a small frie, thay are after master hackers like..i dont know any master hackers..hmm..anyways your right (^_^)
after just reading your diary 19, THATS not %&$$& RIGHT!! i dont have a GC and now all the guys who buy the game and the gc gets there game fixed!? i payd a good 30$ for that game and i shuld get my game fixed COZ I AM A PAYING CUSTMUR! AHHHHh!! nintendo WILL here from me about this!
More news on the Berry glitch... the Japanese version of Fire/Leaf can also be used to "fix" Ruby/Sapphire. Similar to the Jirachi transfer on the Colosseum bonus disc. Nobody knows if the US versions will offer this same feature, but I would bet they will.
thayed better...
It took me a while to get where I'm at.A lot of my pokemon are at level 70 or higher.I've been playing for about 170 hours since I got it 10 months ago.But since the last 50 hours I've just been goofing off.I've cauht 195 pokemon and seen 198.
i have seen 200 and have 191 ...
Hey Martin! That's amazing! I only just restarted my game and I have a pretty lousy team. Right now I have A Makuhita: 20, Grovyle:19, Mightyena:18, Taillow: 8, Sableye: 12 and Cascoon: 5. I'm trying to find out if Dustox learns Cofusion. I need that question answered. Help! My pokedex is at about 26-27.I need help on finding out if sableye is a good choice or is ralts better. Thanks.
Is there any way to get all three starter pokemon without trading? Pleaz help me. thanx
yes, CHEAT USEING AR HAHAH i did,.....
Neo, if your big answer to everything is "U CAN CHEAT WITH AR," you can shut up right now. We all know Action Replay exists, we all know what it does. What we're interested in is playing the game the way it was intended, uncovering existing secrets, and helping each other out with this deep and fun game. Pokemon R/S is a complicated game... and that is what is rewarding about playing it. AR removes that complexity for short term gratification. Cheating is not a strategy, it is not in any way laudable, and it should not be the answer to anybody's questions about gameplay. I'm okay with you using AR to expose hidden programmer tricks and find things that you might have missed (if you've already played through it, or played through it as much as you were able), and if that's the way you personally want to play your game, that's fine. But it's not cool to keep harping over AR on message boards, manufacturing justification for what amounts to breaking the game, gloating over your faked accomplishments, and encouraging others to do the same.
Bevin: Dustox learns Confusion at level 10 if it doesn't know it already, I believe. I personally prefer Sableye over Ralts. Although when you get Ralts up to a Gardevoir, it will have better attacks than a Sableye. Sableye's best (natural) attacks are Faint Attack and Shadow Ball, but their power is only 60 and 80, respectively. Gardevoir gets Psychic (90) and Dream Eater (100)... although it won't get Dream Eater until level 60. As for the starters, the only way I know to get the alternate starters is through trading. But, remember that Pokemon Stadium could win you several difficult pokemon, so I think it's likely that Pokemon Colosseum will have ways to catch Torchic / Mudkip / Treeko. I hope it lets you capture freakin' Feebas too!
SOMEONE got off the wrong side of the bed ta day...you know what? i would have agreed with but, but! i beat'n the E4 on my own over 200 times now most of my pokemon was at level 70-100 before i got AR and i wanted it, just to do cool things like go over walls or get pokemon in the game 1 year before you are sapoise to have it (thats right, cant get dexos with out haveing pokemon fire or leaf) (hes on island 8) i am not going to wate about one more year ( so that i can get the mony to BUY the game then play it then get one more gba to trad it to my self! after 200+ hours i got sick OF FISHING FOR FEEBS or looking in gides to find out if i can get dexise thats sickning!!! and joe How old are you anyway? kk bye for now
i'm sorta sorry to ask but what is Action Replay?
where can i get it?
also i have' played alot since i posted now i have 48 pokemon and five badges.
my team is really weak though they are:
MAchop: Lv; 25
Grovyle: 27
Swellow: 27
Electrike: 22
Grayados: 27
and
Kadabra: 27
plz help!!
Action Replay is a cheater accessory... you hook it up to your Game Boy, and then when you enter certain codes (available online) you can give yourself 99 Master Balls or a Mudkip or whatever. You can find them at any game store. Some people like them, some don't. My feeling is that if you're just going to cheat your way to "winning" the game, then either you're A) far too impatient or B) far too unskilled. But hey, it's your game, do as you like!
thanks for the advice. my pokemon team looks more like this now:
Garaydos: 28
Machoke: 28
Manectric: 27
Grovyle: 28
Kadabra: 28
Swellow: 28
Pretty sad isn't it?
do you have any tips for me?
also now i have 53 pokemon
Hey, you're only on your 5th badge, right? Your team is more or less around the levels of my team circa badge #5. You just need more practice, more battles, more experience points. Things look fine to me. Keep at it!
Tabks!
Now mt teamn looks more like this:
Kadabra:30
Grovyle:30
Gyardos:29
Swellow: 29
Machoke: 29
and Castform:26
I still feel really behind though.
i now have to beat my rival in Lilycove city. is she hard to beat?

great team neo! how did u do it? did u train or use a cheat assecessory?
anywho great team! can you tell me anything about cloning pokemon w/o an AR? thanx
i tained my pokemon by fighting the E4 and i got midkip and treeco by cheating but i trained tham with out 100 rere candys(b\e i can do that) and you cant clon pokemon UNLESS you traied with a friend and tarn off gameboy before it saves then you friend will have you same pkemon you have. MAKE him trand back, and now you have to of the same pokemon.
i beat the game!
except for the fact that i didn't catch the regis
i just got an AR and now my team looks like this:
( I'm not sure how to get different pokemon on the AR , plz help) (i'm really confused.)(Also, i didn't usr the AR to get pokemon.)
Kyorgue:80
Latias:87
Camerupt:80
Sceptile:80
Swellow:80
Manectric: 80.
I may decide to restart and play the whole game with AR but how do you get the individual pokemon in your game?
Thanks.
P.S How do you find the regis?
you have to INPUT codes from sites, now i dont really have them on hand...so pokemon look up somethng like; pokemon ruby ar codes. ok good. OR up load eh from CD to gba IF you have a USB port
thanks. Which do you guys think is better? Ruby or Sapphire?
simple, (pokemon ruby = boys)(pokemon sappfire =joe or girls)
just kidding joe.
very funny. I like both. there both equal i think. how do you get to the regis? i need this question answered. thanks.
What's funny is that Neo trains his pokemon with Rare Candies. Way to go.
3 things one: i only once used 100 rare candys on one pokemon. 2: that was the cheapsit come back i have EVER heard 3: have any of you EVER seen a man play POKEMON? come on? anyone!? no,right. b\e it looks really gay to be playing pokemon in a offise building. dose anyone agree? oh and i take that back i really ment that you are a girl.
if you need anymore slam dunking give me a call. lol
HOW DO YOU GET TO THE REGIS ?? Please help. Thanks.
i am way to lazy to tell you. faqs.com will help.. thats how i found out about em. just look it up, i am way to tired to help dude..ok ok heres a little bit about what ya gota do.. regi 1: near deford. regi 2 in the desred. 3 near lovecove city. rember that you have to do things for you can enter the caves....like theres one cave you have to go to frst.. its where the waves only go this way
Yeah, the sequence of events you need to find them is crazy. Scroll around my diary to entry #15 for a link to a faq. And buy a lot of ultra balls!
joe why diden you just go to YOUR OWN DIARY and copy it to this? i mean it is your page...i think its really stupid to say "oh go to blah blah 15, blah site, blah ultra balls." and thats it. you cant just go to the page look up pokemon, and take the link (LIKE SO): http:// www.fourhman.com/ sapphire.shtml. crap.tk.junk-site. shi* But nooooo you cant. lazy...cant even LOOK AT YOUR OWN DIARY! and type down the link!
i am wage-ing war with joe! dam! his! kind!
oh yeah UB's dont work. use AND ONLY use timer balls (found in baspro near devion corp.) i got raycozy (hes a level 70 ) with a timer ball just keep fighting him with a level 100 smack him around and you got em. timer ball is the best. oh ya rumer has it that if you hit B and DOWN really fast you have a better chans of geting em ( I do it, it seems to work from me) btw dont hit DOWN really fast only B just hold down...down lol
Ultra Balls do work, Timer Balls are also a good choice. I've caught all my legendaries with Ultra Balls. Holding B while you toss a Ball is complete nonsense; it's one of those playground rumors that spring up but has no truth to it at all.
its called "hope" ever heard that? yeah well it works for me. if you read what i said i said it works for me.
is it me? or is it that you have no comebacks what so ever
thanks joe! i'll check that out
ttyl
Neo, i wouldnt call a comeback a misspelled word, and yes i am nameless just to let you know...
are u sure that it is www.faqs.com? i cannot get onto it. plz help.
I think he means www.gamefaqs.com. Lots of great stuff there for Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire!
To get Feebas to evolve it has to have a high beauty rating when leveling up! This does make sense since Feebas are ugly. Give it pokeblocks to raise its beauty.
oh! that clears things up Thanks! I'll get back to u guys.
hey! i now have 2 out of the three regi's and a can't seem to open the door on route 105. plz help. i have 97 pokemon and i have seen 140. bye
well, after a rough 137 hours of gameplay i have finaly completed my dex, so i went to prof. birch and all i got was a congrats no special item just a congrats. so now i think ill go buy an action replay or something.
does anyone know any action replay codes? i cant find any and the ones that i do find take like an hour to put in. if anyone has any codes to walk over water or anything like that let me know
A congrats! That's terrible. That reminds me of playing Animal Crossing every day for an entire year and not getting any reward for it. Feh!
HOW DO YOU GET REGICE?
Dude, did you read the FAQ? Did you do the whole Relicanth / Wailord thing to open the three doors? Regice's cave is on an island in the extreme left of the map, above Dewford. Enter the cave, read the braille, and wait two minutes.
i did that like four times. do you have to look at it when the braille comes up? or do you look at it when you see your character staring at it?
can u catch minum in sapphire? i have tried but can't find one anywhere.
yes you can get plusle and minum in both ruby and sapphire
thanks where can you find minum?
you can catch minum on rout 110
thanx i no whave 111 pokemon. and my team is really great. see ya
Wow, a lot has been going on since I was last here. I got a little sidetracked away from Pokemon Sapphire. I've been playing Golden Sun, and just this last week I finished it only to find out that it wasn't over. I got a To Be Continued. Kinda annoying, but I like the game so much I bought the second one. It's longer with a lot more side quests. I may not be able to get back to pokemon for a while yet. Sigh ... too many games to play and so little time. I miss everyone though, so I just wanted to say hi. Bye bye now ... I have essays to write.
well since know one has wrote about this i guess i will... i got pokemon colleseum on the day it came out and i allready almost have it completed. the game goes by really fast and the only good thing is that you get to see your gba pokemon in 3-d but even that kinda blows because my black machamp shows up in its original color gray. even the the battle animations arent all that great it would be alot better if your pokemon actually hit each other instead of just moving the exact same way each time you tell it to do a move. and plus you dont even get to pick your pokemon you start off with a level 25 umbreon and a level 26 espeon. i think that the team at nintendo could have done alot better job. and genius sonority arent really geniuss.
Yeah, I've been playing Colosseum as well. Have not registered my Sapphire team yet. As I predicted, I'm disappointed in the game as well... I'll post a diary entry on that soon.
i don't have pokemon coleseum and i sadly don't plan on getting it. sry. i haven't been playing sapphire either over the break. its getting boring now. i'll post more later. bye.
great tips in your diary i could not beleive how long it was
Colliseum is fun in some ways. It's nice to know that once you complete it you can start trading with your GBA and start breeding out silver/gold poke-mans that you couldn't get in the new version. Still, I have freinds not into pokemon that asked if they should get it for the RPG element and I couldn't recommend it. I'll probably play it out to the end to get the trade ability, and I'll continue to curse nintenod for preventing me trading my Gold/Silver/RBC pokemon into Ruby/Sapphire. That was what I liked about the franchise, that my pokemon would always be with me, but there goes 600+ hours down the tube. Anyhow, has anyone traded pokemon to their GBAs? What is the numbering scheme for the new(old) pokemon in the pokedex? Great job Joe!
Well, since no one has been here for a while, i just want to say that i started my game with AR. it rocks. ciao!
To Chaos (if you're still here): Birch doesn't give you anything, but the Gamefreak member in the upstairs of Cove Lily motel (in Lilycove) says to go and see him when your Pokedex is complete. So you might want to do that.
~Crystylla ;]
If your still stuck on getting a Dragon Scale I've found they're more commonly attached to Bagons, thats how I got mine.
Hey i'm simon. I'm so annoyed because I NEED A FEEBAS AND A MILOTIC. my pokedex says this:
Seen:200
Caught:198.
This is my team best team
Salamence lv100
Minun lv100
Sceptile lv100
Raquaza lv100
Swampert lv100
Blaziken lv100
MY TEAM ROCKS!!! I'V NEVER LOST TO A MATCH!
thanx 4 all of yur help joe, but i still need help. how do u get into the sootopolis gym. the door's looked. and, where is the cave of origin?
K*T
can you be a little more specific on how to get feebas itis the only pokemon i am missing... if you could be more specific email me and give me a tip on how to catch it....
Katie, you can't get into the Sootopolis Gym until you do the whole Cave of Origin bit... Steven and Wallace will take you into the Cave of Origin once you have 7 badges and have done the underwater cavern bit after Team Aqua/Magma flood the world.
I notice you all don't know how to get Milotic, it's kinda easier said than done. First of course you have to catch a Feebas, give him/her 22 beutie blocks(blue pokeblocks) raise it a few levels and its sould evolve into a Milotic, I may not have caught many pokemon myself (141) but I hope this helps ya'll.
One thing you didn't mention about colloseum is Mt. Battle. It's a great place to level up your pokemon. Use Forretress's "level 60" explosion with a switchable pokemon you want to level up, and bring out a expendable pokemon in its place "I use Granbull", Exp. Share helps even more. Do this on Mt. Battle level 9-10, all experience points will go to that one pokemon cause Forrestress kills himself and bull =D. I can get a level 5 to level 20 in one battle. Make sure to have the rest of your party filled with strong pokemon to finish the rest off. Explosion won't kill enemies on a couple of battles, so just switch the party out before those.
At the very least. Colloseum is a great way to level up your pokemon from Sapphire/Ruby. God knows it takes forever on there.
Hey guys, I got Pokemon Colluseum like 3 months ago and beat the whole game. If anyone needs tips ask me. And did anyone know that you get HO-OH when you catch and purify all 48 pokemon, beat Mt. Battle in both story and battle mode.
I love my team so far, I've just beat flannery and my team is:
Swampert Lvl 36
Breelom Lvl 35
Manectric Lvl 35
Camerupt Lvl 35
Altaria Lvl 35
Cacturne Lvl 35
So, what do you people think?
It just proves I rock, don't it?
Aww, come on people, what do ya think?
Oh, by the way great website Joe. ^_^
cool pokemon lewis
Since you got this game, which do you perfer FireRed or LeafGreen pokemon game?
Since you got this game, which do you perfer FireRed or LeafGreen pokemon game?
Hey, Guys, I just wanted to say to Joe, great diary! That's a great idea! I had a lot of fun reading it, and I think I'm going to do that with my Firered when I get it on Friday. I've restarted my game a few times, sometimes training all of my pokemon equally, sometimes just twice, and this time, just my Blaziken.
My Pokemon:
Rayquaza lvl 72
Salamence lvl 57
Kyogre lvl 73
Blaziken lvl 72
Flygon 46
Walrein 44
Right now I'm trying to get my Metang evolved into Metagross.. Then I'm going to get him to around lvl 70, too. I also want to get my Salamence to 70. And then get Latias and Latios. I missed the people with the EON Ticket when they came to my area.. I want Latios! I still haven't caught Latias yet, but I'm going to as soon as I see him.
Time: 30:23 (Yeah, I know, fast.. I beat the elite 4 at 11:10:11, my best time yet)
Pokedex: 56 (Yeah, low, but I was trying to go fast, and right now I'm getting it higher by evolving and catching.)
Money: :P 511135 (It's from beating the elite 4 like 15 times in a row training, and recently with the amulet coin.)
I started training a TON these last few days, so I could beat my friend.. He's got:
Rayquaza lvl 100
Blaziken lvl 100
Swampert lvl 100
He might have better ones, those are the only ones I saw. :P
I almost killed his Blaziken, once, with my Kyogre's Hydro Pump. He was at lvl 57. Pretty good, If you ask me! :P
I figure if I get 6 pokemon at lvl 70, I might have a good chance.
And by the way, I don't think Colosseum was that great, My friend has it, and I played a little when he came over. One thing that was awesome about it, though, was that I when I battled him, he used Colosseum! (he traded his Ruby pokemon to his Colosseum) It was a whole lot cooler watching his Rayquaza and Blaziken butcher my pokemon than watching it on the not-as-good GBA graphics..
Thanks for listening to my long-winded explanation, if you did. :P
Daniel
Thanks to everyone who has posted comments on the Sapphire Diary! Now that LeafGreen and FireRed are out, I am going to shut down the Sapphire Diary and start working on my LeafNotes diary, so come on over and continue the poke-fun with LeafGreen and FireRed.
